Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in South Carolina.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“I have been disappointed by store bought peaches for years now, they don't have great flavor and are usually mealy. After seeing McLeod Farms on a tv show (Food Tech, season 1, episode 5), I splurged and ordered a box of their peaches for delivery. They are amazing! The flavor that peaches are supposed to taste like, and not a mealy one in the box. They were very well packed and were really high quality. I'm so impressed that I actually just ordered two more boxes for delivery in July and August. I have already put a reminder in my calendar for May of next year to go ahead and order more. Yes, they're expensive, but I *am* getting them shipped, and the quality is worth the price!”

“This was my first visit here. I really enjoyed the visit. I loved the shop here. They had vegetables, fruits, baked goods, jams, sauces. I purchased a small bag of crimson crisp apples! They are so good! I would love to go back again for another visit! The staff was friendly and welcoming! Oh, I didn't mention! They have ice cream too! The museum was interesting as well. I think there was a restaurant there as well. I didn't go to it. Thanks for the visit! From the Young at Heart Seniors from the Conway(SC) Church of God”

“Museum was amazing, 100% in love with the VW Bug!!!!!!! To say I want it is an understatement, grew up on VWs, absolutely love 50s, and 60s bugs!!!!! Restaurant was closed, actual bugs were out lol, place was hopping, our first time there, cool spot, the chocolate banana nut bread was the Bomb! Mother in law bought the peach pound cake I think, it was very good also, basket of peaches were bruised up pretty bad, but can't win them all. We will go back.”

“This is an amazing place to stop by, grab some fresh fruits and meats, check out the museum and then eat some fresh ice cream. Nice quarter to half day trip with the family. I tried the ice cream peaches and they were very juicy and lasted 2 weeks in the refrigerator. As compared to Phillip’s farm’s ice cream McLeod is the clear winner for me. We tried cherry cheesecake, peach and chocolate. Very fresh and delicious especially on the hot day.”

“I love McLeod's, always have. I go here for all of my fresh produce. They have all sorts of fresh, healthy vegetables and fruits, tons of preserves and fruit butters, and a lot of other local products from farms around the area. They also serve some tasty home made sweets and ice cream. McLeod's is known for their peaches, and they have the highest quality peaches that you'll ever find.”

“Great food and fun all year long. A favorite pitstop on our all season trips to and from the beach. Beautiful fresh fruits, veggies, baked goods, ice cream and other local goods. I even met Santa on our last visit. There's a museum, and butcher shop out back were you can grab a meal and fresh meat. I highly recommend.”

“McLeod's Farm is the best. They have a large variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, just picked! They also have the most amazing muffins! I always get the apple muffins but my family loves the other varieties! They are a must get and we highly recommend McLeods.”

“Passed this stand on the way to Hartsville and decided to come back for some snacks and a wander around. We didn't check out the museum but a nice stop!”
