Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Virginia.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We have been coming to local family owned Morris Orchard for over 25 years of family memories!! Blueberries, apples, peaches, THE world’s best cider—they have it all! The cider is truly ambrosia! You cannot drink grocery store cider after tasting the rich blend of apple varieties in theirs! Oh the cider donuts hot on October weekends!! Apple butter is yummy too! So many picture ops during the changing seasons plus fun to pick your own apples or berries with kids! We love Morris Orchards! It’s exceptional and worth the drive to see the pastoral mountain views!”

“This is a nice little farm on a beautiful plot of countryside. They have some goats, a donkey, honey, apples, cider, and donuts. I'm from Delaware and we love celebrating apples. This place wasn't as good to me as the place I grew up (although the apples were on par and excellent), but I enjoyed it all the same. The cashier seemed to be in a poor mood though. Hope her day improved.”

“We were visiting from Maine and stopped here. Cider donuts were freshly made and amazing! I purchased a few apples and the Gala one was probably the best tasting apple I’ve ever had. Cute animals to see for the little kids. The only thing I didn’t like was no dogs in the orchard. Our golden retriever wanted to go with us but we had to keep in the car 😞”

“I didn't get pictures of their animals. They have donkeys/mules and goats we can feed w a small donation. You can pick your own apples and pumpkins. My husband hurt his foot so we chose to pick apples and pumpkins from their store. This is our second time going. We enjoy it here.”

“We had a great time picking pumpkins, feeding the animals and eating their delicious donuts. We did miss the picnic tables they used to have to sit and enjoy the donuts. So make sure to bring a blanket if you want a place to sit:)”

“Beautiful orchard and we enjoyed the apple and the watermelon from their farm was amazing. And their cabin stay is a wonderful experience”

“Love this orchard! Local mountain side family friendly orchard. We have picked apples and pumpkins. Their apple cider is wonderful 🍎 🍏”

“I went there with my family. We picked blueberries and blackberries. We made wonderful memories. We also bought local honey and whole blueberry preserves. The preserve was so good and we had to stop by again to get more. We bought 7 more preserves this times ! Haha I will give them to some of my acquaintances.”
