What you can pick

In August, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for New York, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New York.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“What a fun and beautiful spot! The people, place and food were all fantastic! As my wife and I walked in we were greeted by the helpful staff at Bar. It was 10:30AM on a Sunday and The Barn at The Farm was all set up for the day. It looked really cool! The place was extremely clean and because it was a Barn it was tall and open. The menu offered a wide selection of food from breakfast items to hamburgers. We ordered a breakfast sandwich, French toast, hash browns and a French press coffee. The food looked good and tasted even better! Roxanne our server was friendly, nice, funny and full of good info about Navarino Orchard upcoming events and the various kinds of tasty Mimosas they serve! Thanks Roxanne for taking such good care of us! We will be back.”

“I was a vendor at the Strawberry Festival they hosted at this orchard, and I was very impressed by the grounds and everything they had to offer! It's a great place to go to pick strawberries or get a host of different kinds of food at the stands such as fresh apple fritters! Come as on your own, with a friend or with the whole family! There's lots to do at this gorgeous orchard. Professional, friendly, and well-kept. 5 stars!!!!”

“Our day was made by getting to see who I assume is the owner's dog! We watched him/her go up to everyone and say hi, and play with a child who was so happy. The dog was clearly enjoying being outside and getting to be a part of all of the excitement so much. The fact that they are dog lovers here makes me want to keep supporting this business. Also, the food was really good, and the strawberries were so sweet!”

“More than an orchard. Their store sells local products like baked goods, maple syrup, produce and many other things. They have farm fresh eggs as well. They also have their own bakery which makes some of the best pies; strawberry rhubarb is our favorite. There's also a proper restaurant onsite along with a food truck if you want a quick bite to eat. I highly recommend stopping by for more than just apples.”

“They’re just the best in town by far. Best apples, best/largest pumpkins and more. I also had my baby shower event in their barn and it was great 10/10 recommendation.”

“Amazing farm! The staff is super friendly and the food/drinks are delicious. It's worth the trip for their special events like the strawberry festival.”

“A disappointing visit as Navarino is usually amazing. Mother’s Day brunch food wonderful, husband smiling and talking with everyone. There were no signs up giving directions as what to do. Only one sign on wall saying order here. My daughter went up to ask the mother for direction. She pointed to the line and said wait in line. The line was a bit shocked by the harsh response. She never said happy Mother’s Day to people never smiled. The daughter started taking orders off to the side. We went over there. She was speaking fast and soft. I had to have her repeat herself. She got angry. All in all the food great but service horrible. If you are running a restaurant even if it’s busy, you are the encounter that matters. I don’t recommend eating there when it’s busy.”

“Stopped here for the Strawberry fest. Terrible customer service from the younger girl at the bar. She shorted me two dollars, and then proceeded to raise her voice at me when I had politely said something. We ordered two drinks, a mule and a soda for my son for a total of 12 dollars she said. I gave her a 20, she gave me back 6 dollars. I put a dollar in the tip jar, and had stated I only received 6 back from her, and then she had proceeded to start yelling and raising her voice at me when I had stated it would be two more dollars I was supposed to get back, she yelled " just give me time to think!!" raising her hands in the air and acting like a psycho making a scene. The older lady at the bar apologized for the girls behavior and stated "she's just having a rough day" I stated I understand but that was unnecessary and I don't know if I'll be back" to which she replied " oh, so now youre being rude to me". Wow!! Find new staff or atleast people that have good Customer service skills. We spent a lot of money and left upset. Not cool. So much for what was supposed to be a fun day, it was ruined. Thanks.”
