A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Virginia.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.

“We picked lots of yummy blackberries and bought some tomatoes. The place is cute and the staff is very very friendly. They told us they don't use any pesticides, so it's a great source of organic food. The prices are also good! We'll come back next year for strawberry picking for sure!”

“Really enjoyed my visit here to pick strawberries! The couple who runs it is very sweet and helpful. It was a very hot day and they had refreshments. In the winter they said they will have leafy greens like swiss chard.”
