Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Virginia.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I cannot say enough good things about this farm, everything was beyond fantastic from the jumping pad, pony rides, the face painter, the corn bin (more on that below) and of course the pumpkin patch! The BEST pumpkin patch we’ve ever been too! On our way home I noticed my wedding ring and anniversary band were off :(( I called and talked to Amber and she said they would do their best to look for it. I later asked if I could come back and retrace my steps to look for it. I talked to her husband, Anthony when I got there and he knew all about it and said they had already been searching for it. I didn’t find it then, but he told me he would have his buddy come with a high tech metal detector and search. I came back this afternoon and the wedding band (28 years) was found in their gigantic corn bin, I was so surprised and so happy! Allen then assured me he would continue to search for the other band. What a fantastic group of people and I’m so grateful for their kindness and service!”

“Our first fall in Virginia and everyone told us this is a must. We loved our time here. I found a coupon on groupon: a family of 4 for $30 (normally $40) so that was very generous of them. Then groupon itself was having a 20 percent off sale so I had the experience for only $24!!! You can't beat that. They had a huge hay castle, food trucks, pumpkin patch, goats, sand play area, chickens, and the wagon ride all included. The pumpkins were around $10 each for a nice size. I'll post them after we carve them. My favorite was the corn pit, something so simple yet do loved. My kids were in there for hours.”

“I took my kids with my two grandchildren ages 2 and 6. My 6-year-old grandson is level 2 autism plus ADHD. I was concerned with the crowds but he was in his own world playing in the corn pit and had a ball. The 2-year-old sat and just dug into the corn and loved it Then we rode the hay wagon through the pumpkin patch and found the jump pad. He was already exhausted but had a ball on that as well. Well he jumped the 2-year-old went with Mommy through the corn maze The people are very helpful helping me find my way around from beginning to end of our day”

“This place is Great! My oldest son is in a wheelchair and he was able to go on a hayride along with everyone else, which is amazing. The corn maze was a good challenge and the tube slides were really neat. Everyone was super nice and helpful, including Mr Lloyd himself. Thanks so much Lloyd Family Farms. Cheers!”

“Best place for family. Kids from toddlers up will get a lot out of the trip. Reasonably priced, and great pumpkin picking. The Lloyd's farm is the best choice in the area. Also the only one with covers on the wagons”

“This was a leap of faith we decided to try. We drove from Aylett and we were quite surprised. The ticket line moved quickly, the wagon ride to the event part of the land was nice and it was just enough fun for my 6 yr old and my 19 yr old.. I joined in for the Corn Pit and the corn maze.. the girls got alittle artwork which we were all amazed at how easy she made it look. Food options were good, big and tasty. A few food trucks there. A great family day!! Pumpkins and gourds were amazing shapes, sizes and colors.”

“Great place for a fall trip with the family. Corn maze, pumpkins, and some other interactive items. Price for pumpkins with entry fee is a little steep. Be sure to pack a wagon (of some sorts) as it’s a little bit of a walk to get back to shuttle pick up area. Overall full and pretty organized. Would be nice to see it on a busy day.”
