Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Virginia.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Great Pumpkin Picking Experience My husband and I visited last October and had a great pumpkin picking experience. We got there first thing in the morning when the line for the hayride wasn't too bad (by the time we left, the line was through the parking lot). In line, there was warm drinks, donuts, and other food for sale. The line was also surrounded by activities for kiddos. The hayride was scenic and pleasant. We got dropped off in the pumpkin field for an unlimited amount of time to browse and pick. When we were ready to head back, we waited in line in the field to take the hayride back to the entrance. When we got off the tractor, my husband gathered all of our pumpkins in his arms and walked the 3 steps in front of staff. We were able to get several large and small pumpkins for the set $20 price. I haven't found prices at any nearby farms that beat that, since we wanted several, and most other farms charge by the pound.”

“We have plenty lot of parking and was waiting on a line to enter , everyone who enters has to take a hay ride to the pumpkin farm , The ride was great, the farm is a huge one , you will feel good there . I have seen a lot of pumpkins in the farm , they are fresh and healthy too. By returning back to the entrance we can go to from store over there where you can buy popcorn, cotton candy etc and I got to see a boo house over there for 5$ , it’s good for kids as it’s 3D . Overall I have enjoyed , try to go there in a weekend and you feel amazing.”

Seeing them walk across their little bridge is adorable. I recommend this place for a good family outing in the fall.”

“We went on Saturday the 18th of October. Tractor drivers, the guy at the pumpkin patch and lady at the wristband register are awesome and professional, the rest of the staff not so much. We asked about the tickets and who needs to buy them. We were told only the minors needs the tickets for the petting zoo area. Let's go to the petting zoo part, big group ahead of us was told that each person needed a wristband to which they argue their case to the worker. She was very rude to them in dismissing their claim. My wife asked the same thing since we were told at the front that only kids needed the wristband, the worker replied "do whatever you want I don't care about this anymore". Next coming back from the pumpkin patch, staff started yelling at our group when were getting down from the tractor to not steal the pumpkins that they know who is stealing and they would catch us. Nothing like being accused of stealing pumpkins for some reason or another. Next let's get a drink, long line I get it their busy, but again the attitude from concession staff just leaves you with the sorry I'm bothering you I just want a drink and maybe some French fries feeling. I get it sometimes the staff gets frustrated but it was overall rudeness from the majority of the people we engaged. I feel bad for anyone who has any disabilities because it is not very accommodating, but is the business decision on what they offer. Is a good deal for the as many pumpkins you can carry for $30. Other than that sorry I don't recommend it.”

“We visited after confirming the venue was accessible, but unfortunately, it wasn’t. With a child in a wheelchair, we encountered gravel paths, stairs, & no accessible routes to the main attractions. The pumpkin patch was only reachable by hayride, which wasn’t safe or practical for anyone with mobility challenges. Staff said they don’t offer accommodations and denied ever claiming accessibility. Areas were cash-only, and there was staff smoking at the register. Overall, the experience felt unwelcoming and not inclusive for families with accessibility needs of any age.”
