What you can pick

In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Texas, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Texas.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I used to pick Blackberrys in our yard when I was growing up and my grandmother would make jam with me. I haven't picked berries since, until yesterday. What an absolutely amazing find Omi's farm is! I took my adult daughter with me and we picked 19 pounds of berries! The fruit is amazing and best of all they do not use any pesticides, fertilizer etc. If you get a chance to visit I highly recommend it. ***TIPS*** Be sure to check their Facebook page to be sure they're going to be open, they're only open certain days as the berries ripen. Be aware there are no restroom facilities to use, so be prepared for that. A new truck stop with a WhatABurger has opened across the highway from the farm so that is convenient for restrooms, food etc. Don't trust Google Maps directions! If you look at the satellite view it does accurately lead to the small dirt road across the road from the truck stop, however the directions try to tell you to go elsewhere, don't listen to it! The farm is directly off of Hwy 21 across from the truck stop, you'll see a cell tower on the left as a landmark. They do have a sign out front as well.”

“Amazingly juicy and sweet black berries! U pick, u sample, and it's a great deal! It's easy to walk through, there's a variety of blackberries (different sizes, sweetness levels, some bushes are spike-free), no use of pesticides (you might see a praying mantis munching on a berry). And the owners, Omi and Opi, are kind and even sweeter than the berries! Right now, July, the second crop is very small but the berries are even sweeter.”

“Love this place! We went there at around 10am today. It was hot staying outside but it's a place you won't regret! Omi and Op(not sure how to spell) are super nice and the blackberries are sweet! Hope more people discover this place and taste all these yummy blackberries!”

“Hidden gem thats not really that hidden. Just off of hwy 21 before it crosses over hwy 290 you will find an impressive blackberry farm. The couple that runs the place are supper sweet and helpful. If your in the area and love blackberries definitely stop and check them out.”

“This is a great little farm run by some nice people. The berries are huge, tasty and free from herbicide, pesticide and fertilizers so you can eat the fresh from the vine. 11 out of 10 stars. I have been wanting to check them out for years and I wish I had gone sooner.”

“Beautiful blackberry farm! Check out the Facebook page before visiting to make sure they're open. We got there at 9:00am and it was busy, but there were plenty of delicious ripe berries left on the bushes plus many many more unripe ones for later in the season.”

“Great little small family farm. Go early. It gets picked out quickly! Big beautiful, plump berries. Great way to support locally. Omi & Opi are very sweet.”

“Great blackberries sold by 2 wonderful owners who welcomed our daughter and her 4 children for a lovely experience.”
