What you can pick

In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Maine, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Maine.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Really enjoyed staying here overnight in my camper and sampling some yummy meals and also enjoyed watching families enjoy immersing themselves in the experience of apple picking and friendly encounters with farm animals. Also, they are decorated for Halloween and have beautiful pumpkins and marigolds for sale. The apple trees were prolific but unfortunately the recent hurricane toppled some trees and lost many apples to the ground early. The farm is lovely and right on the Sebago to sea greenway which I took advantage of with my dog. My dog is good with farm animals but still, I kept her up because of the food service & young families ( There is a playground and lawn games in the picnic area too). The staff work hard and are friendly and helpful. Market has an abundant variety of homegrown fresh foods and treats!”

“Popped into this super cute spot for the first time since the new owners took over, and I’m so glad I did! The menu is packed with options—whether you're in the mood for a breakfast sandwich, a hot latte, fresh bagels, pizza, a burger, or even a salad. Plus, they’ve got all sorts of fun pantry goodies, gifts, beer, wine, fresh eggs, and some chilled and frozen items. While you wait for your food, you can wander outside to say hey to the chickens, goats, donkey, and pig! We decided to hang out and had lunch at the big table that fits 4-6 people. We tried a little bit of everything: breakfast sandwich, pizza, burger, and falafel wrap. Everything was soooo tasty! There are also a couple of bar seats if you want to grab a quick bite. Can’t wait to come back!”

“This place is spectacular! There's a small family market that has a bunch of local products from meats and eggs to pies and beverages! They also serve up some great breakfast and lunch. The made in-house bagels are a stand out for me. They offer apple and berry picking during the appropriate seasons. Live music and community events can be found here as well! This is a prime example of a business that deserves our support as a community. Their hard work and passion for local fare shines through everything they do. Swing by and check out what orchard ridge has to offer!”

“Very cute farm in Maine with a small cafe/restaurant inside with lots of bagels, sandwiches, bakery items, and drinks to choose from. There's also some merch and local products available for purchase too. They had a small pumpkin patch outside and a few animals you could see from outside. They also had tables outside overlooking the fields which was really beautiful in the fall. Good amount of free parking and the staff was very friendly. Would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area! Support local!”

“We love coming here with our family! I recently came in with a difficult, last-minute order and the team made it all happen. I love how flexible and accommodating they are especially in the midst of rebuilding after the fire. I am not sure how new the espresso bar is, but my latte was perfect! In-house made Lavender, too, which is hard to find even in Portland.”

“Went on a first date here. And it was amazing. Sadly, the apple picking was dwindling down. And the apples got some weather damage. But we found a couple. The property is beautiful 😍. Just a walk through the orchard was so peaceful. The shop had some yummy coffee drinks too! Service there is so friendly.”

“This is the greatest place on Earth! If I ever move, it will need to be closer to Orchard Ridge Farms. I would eat here every morning if I could. Their bagels and cream cheese is the best I have ever had! I love visiting all of the animals, especially the donkey when he is there!”

“Picked blueberries this trip! Was a wonderful atmosphere! Adults and kids having a good time, ice cream truck! Food truck! Farmers market going on, home made food to choose from. Wonderful experience!!!”
