Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Texas.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Payment notes on file: Mastercard. Cash still helps at smaller stands.

What visitors say

“Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm is easily one of the best strawberry farms in Texas. It’s such a premium-fun spot for strawberry picking, especially with kids. They provide picking buckets for about $4 each which can be reused every time you go there and whatever you pick is weighed at checkout, usually around $8 per pound. Their strawberry jam sells out fast, so grab that first before you head into the fields. And don’t skip the strawberry lemonade, it’s so refreshing and totally worth the $4. The farm is quite spacious and typically open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Try to get there right when they open at 10 AM to for the best experience. And definitely check their Facebook page or website before heading out, you don’t want to make the drive from the Dallas–Fort Worth area only to find it closed.”

“Excellent weekend countryside eco friendly place. Strawberry farm where the visitors can pic the berries they wish directly. Zero pollution area. Lot of people visit and enjoy the rural thrill. Washrooms are available. We have to pay for the fruits we pick only. No ticket charges.”

“Furst time being there.got there at 930 and already a lot of people. You buy a bucket for $4ea and fill it up. Price is 8$ per lb. It was a little muddy in some areas but mostly dry. We filled up our bucket at 5lbs we got several Kaiser sized berries. All are ripe and ready”

“We had a great time at that farm even though the weather was against us. I wish they had a sitting area where people can sit and enjoy their time there. We bought a small jar of jam and it was very good. Nice experience for the whole family!”

“A fun experience for the entire family, esp. if you’ve wondered how strawberries look while growing. We bought, picked, and ate ENTIRELY too many strawberries! The strawberry lemonade was good, too! Yum!”

“I live pecan creek strawberry farm . The strawberries are really yummy . This is my second year going there . Looking forward to next year .”

“Visited this place on a rainy day, so we expected it to be muddy and It also wasn't crowded. There were enough amount of strawberries to pick. We specially enjoyed the home made strawberry jam. My MAIN drawback was the entrance fee being tied to a plastic bucket. It was only $4, and I understand the reasoning, but it feels wasteful since it's something I likely won't use again. I would have preferred a cardboard box or a more eco-friendly option; especially since we visited on Earth Day!”

“We went during spring break, so it did get sold out before opening. However it was a great experience and had plenty of berries to pick!”
