What visitors say

“Fantastic food made of hearty and healthy Vermont grown ingredients. The old restored barn dining area and the ambient warm lighting create a cozy atomosphere that invites you in. We went in November and ordered radish and turnip along with the bread rolls as a starter. The rolls were so well baked and a must as they are cheap and delicious. The radish and turnip appetizer was great especially if you enjoy raw vegetables as they were quite crunchy. For entrées we got the chicken dish which was cooked to perfection with a delicious gravy-like sauce. My only complaint was the portion was on the smaller side. It was probably only 8 oz. My partner got the buttercup squash vegetarian dish which was sweet and savory. All in all the food was excellent quality and the service was impressive. I would say the atomosphere, the service, and the farm to table nature of Philo Ridge Farm are the three main things going for it.”

“We celebrated our son's graduation from Champlain College here, and had a terrific meal. The decor is beautiful, the service was very attentive, and the food was superb. We chose the "chef's choice" option; we told the server how hungry we were and the chef sent out a series of different dishes from the menu. Everything was beautifully prepared and wonderfully fresh. So many highlights: radishes in compound butter, creamy feta with blueberry sauce, roast pork, seared beef, and more. There were two excellent desserts: a lemon posset (the star!), and blueberry sorbet with candied ginger. Definitely a bit of a splurge, but solid value.”

“Philo Ridge Farm was quite the surprise find for my wife and I. We were visiting Vermont and driving around just enjoying the snow when we happened to see the open sign from the road. The farm store was stocked with all kinds of amazing local goods and we ended up having coffee sitting by the fire in the dining room. The atmosphere inside is amazing. Super warm and homey feeling. You can tell a lot of thought was put into it. Absolutely stop there if you’re ever in the area.”

“This place goes above and beyond. If you are looking for a homey atmosphere with the heartiest of dishes in a remarkable setting, this is your spot! Every plate exceeded the expectations of the last (including the can’t- miss basil ice cream with olive oil). Zoe our server was so kind and friendly, as was the rest of the team here, making the vibes even better. Come stop by Philo Ridge!”

“Incredible dinner at Philo Ridge Farm. Wow, we feel lucky to have such an amazing restaurant so close to our home in Charlotte! Everything from the beignets w ham to the dessert were something to write home about. We even had cocktails that were executed flawlessly. I'll definitely be coming back often!”

“Best meal in Vermont in a long time. Brunch was perfect. Family style well seasoned delightful atmosphere and great service.”

“The grounds are immaculate! The dining room is cozy and inviting. The staff was personable and caring. A great experience!”

“It was nice to visit this lovely local spot. I had a decent burger and smashed potatoes. The other sandwiches were tasty and a good value. The building and furnishings are all very tasteful and of good quality... Meats and other farm products are awesome and available to purchase. I just wish that they had beer on the menu.”
