What visitors say

“We recently moved to Macon, and it took awhile for us to discover this gem. We purchased from several different vendors and were happy with everything we brought home. The people were also friendly and chatty, so it made shopping there especially fun. The live music was a treat as well. Our favorite wares were from the primary baker. His sourdough bread is fantastic, the best I’ve ever had outside the San Francisco area! It was a charming experience, highly recommend, plan on returning at least once a month. They also mentioned that it goes year round and that the downtown area is decorated beautifully during the Christmas season, so will definitely bring the family back to check it out!”

“So glad to see a farmers market for local farms and craftsmen. The opening day was well attended! Vesterfield Farms supplies all of my family’s vegetables and you simply can’t beat fresh, local, healthy produce. They also have beautiful flowers! Our family also used to love the fresh baked bread vendor and the nice lady with the wonderful cakes until we had to go gluten free. (Boo!! Celiac Disease stinks!) Go do your shopping at the market and grab some fresh flowers or potted plants while you are there. #Knowyourfarmer.”

“I’m so excited about the new farmer’s market on the lower end of Poplar! It was great to find my favorite vendors there, Vesterfield Farm, Rag and Frass, Everyday Farm and Garden and more! It was wonderful to see so many people there to see what was available and support these people who work so hard to provide us with quality products. Thank you to all the vendors and sponsors!”

“It is an absolute treat to now be able to buy beautiful, locally-grown produce from hard-working farmers downtown every week. This producers-only market is long overdue. There’s something very special about buying carrots, potatoes, flowers and tomatoes directly from the folks who grew it. 10/10 experience. Would recommend.”

“Poplar Street Farmers Market has quite a selection of Local, Organic, Seasonal Produce and products! The market accepts EBT / SNAP, Support the Local Economy and purchase high quality food that is far more healthier and all around better than anything in the grocery stores ! Save Soil :)”

“Had a great time at the market today with my kids everyone was friendly and Milly had some great strawberries! Wonderful atmosphere... organic fruits and veggies, and baked goods. Etc..... can't wait to come back next week to purchase pottery and bouquets of flowers”

“IN-SEASON food is special. You can shop for your whole week of cooking here: fruit, veggies, aromatics, meat, eggs, bread, mushrooms, oils, jellies, sweets. The olive oil from five otters is a treasure. A wonderful addition to Macon, we needed this market.”

“I love fresh produce and the environment is great we need more vendors in our community And I am hoping they are open two days a week instead of one.”
