Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Nebraska.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“This pumpkin patch is a lot more spread out than others we've been to, so much more room to run around. The activities are aimed at all ages, which is great it kept the older kids happy and interested. There were a lot of things to do and see, I generally don't like paying more than gate admission ($6) but the cost was lower than the ones around GI and Hastings (train rides were $1, pony rides were either $1 or $3, and the big zip line was $10--a couple other free smaller ones so it balanced out). They didn't have any bounce houses or bounce pillows, but honestly you won't miss them, we all really loved this place and just wish we found it when the kids were a lot younger. Their cafe also had cheaper food & drinks, definite plus!”

“As others have said, plenty to do and explore. All 6 kids I took had a great day. They enjoyed finding the random golden tickets (which we well hidden) the most. Ski ball, basketball, baseball throws were fun. It reminded me of how Valas was when I was a kid, not so commercialized as it is now. I'll be taking the family here again next year.”

“Came with my grandsons and their parents. This is a perfect place to bring the younger kiddos! The boys are 3 and 6, and they had a blast! Our 6 year old was all over the place, and there were so many activities that were geared perfectly for him! His younger brother did his best to keep up, and they loved everything!!”

“I’ve taken my youngest the last few years and I’m not sure who is more excited her or me. Beautifully maintained property, fun and safe activities and the snack bar offers a wide selection for my little picky eater. You have to take them through the read along the walk trail, it is adorable!”

“So much fun! We have so many special pictures for our fun day! I thought of everyone and everything! Good options for food, plenty of space, lots of bathrooms a breastfeeding area, loads of activities! We wish we didn’t live out of state and could come again soon! Excellent job Poppy’s!”

“We are new in town and my son could not get enough of the pumpkin patch. The food and drinks for mom topped it off. We will be back!”

“In budget family friendly fun for all ages they added a lot of new games and even a feed and petting zoo”

“Lots of fun for me and my family. Open skeeball and lots of other fun games!”
