Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Wisconsin.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Rustic little apple orchard bakery in the middle of nowhere. If you are in the Shell Lake area near September/October, this little spot is definitely worth traveling off the beaten path. I’m not sure if you can pick you own apples, but they have several varieties waiting for you inside. What they lack in size, they make up for in flavor. Their homemade apple cider donuts are a real treat. And if you’re lucky, you’ll get a batch that’s still hot. They have a variety of baked goods, like scones, apple filled pastries, apple turnovers, cookies, apple pie bars, fudge, apple crumb bread and more. They also have a variety of homemade soaps and honey and other Knick knacks to splurge on.”

“This is a very cute place. Lots of yummy food items to choose from like pie, cookies, donuts, cranberries, apples, apple chips, caramel dipping sauce, apple cider and flavored craisens. The minute you open the door you can smell the applesauce donuts and they are delicious! I wanted to just stand on the porch and open and shut the door so I could keep smelling them. It was beautiful weather so we sat outside and ate our treats. Pumpkin cookies and apple fritter and they were delicious! I highly recommend the trip out here.”

“Love it!!!!!! The bake shop smells so amazing, I wish I had a candle and body wash that smells like this place. The taste is even better....every single treat they bake and sell is well worth it. I love the local relish and salsa as well. Cider is so delicious. We get pre-picked apples- not sure if they have you-pick, but well worth the visit anyway!”

“Lovely little bakery shop and apples. Some of the best HoneyCrisp and Connell Redd I’ve ever had. Exceptional bakery. The caramel apple is the best cookie of my life! Not exaggerating. The pumpkin cookies tasted like the freshness of the vegetable and not overly pumpkin spiced. Cider is also top notch! My new go-to spot. See you next year!”

“Good prices on apples, pumpkins, and cranberries. Really tastey gluten-free pastries and conventional pastries. The GF pumpkin chocolate chip cookies were so good! I prefer the ones without frosting. Everything is reasonably priced and almost all local to Wisconsin. Staff is so helpful and kind. No u-pick.”

“Stopped in on our way to the north woods. Besides apples, they had wonderful bakery items which my husband enjoyed. I was ecstatic to find they also had gluten free items. The craisin scone, pumpkin cookie with frosting & chocolate chip cookie were all outstanding. Moist, flavorful & delicious!!”

“The apple cider donuts are exceptional! Apple turnovers the best I have ever had! Everything was being made fresh as we browsed the shop. Fresh coffee. The ladies are the sweetest and so helpful. Can't wait to go back! We are from near Green Bay and this place is absolutely worth the visit!!!”
