What you can pick

In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Connecticut, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Connecticut.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Roses berry farm is currently being leased by two seperate farms; River ridge Farm & Market who are hosting pick your own raspberry and blueberries + acres farm who is hosting pick your own flowers and pumpkins. There is no longer the breakfast/brunch available under this nee lease but still an abundance of pick your own opportunities. Both Matt & Dakota of River ridge and Morgan of acres farm are doing a phenomenal job with their portions of the property and excited for the season ahead!”

“Wonderful place for a wedding! Also for apples and berries! In a lovely spot with a lovely view. The bride and groom made their special and unique day at Rose's Berry Farm. As a guest in attendance, I had a wonderful time celebrating this wedding with a beautiful couple in a very lovely place.”

“No place better than this to start your day. Right in middle of farm with beautiful 360 degree backdrop. Delicious fresh food and beautiful set up makes up for limited menu.. There’s a place to play for my kids 2 and 1 year of age..I just wish it is open more than just 1 day of week..”

“The owners are wonderful, welcoming and so enjoyable. Glad to have met these fine people as well as get some apples, blueberry pie, jams and goodies from their nice little store. Thanks for a wonderful experience on your amazing property. Also, love the park for the kiddos.”

“I came here for their Sunday breakfast with a small group to enjoy the outside view and food. We got there at 8:10am and there wasn't a line yet and plenty of tables available. The vegetable quiche was good and the blueberry side not too sweet. Overall it was good food with quick service. I'd recommend a stop in, but get there before 9am to skip the line!”

“Summary: A fun berry farm allowing patrons to pick a variety of seasonal fruits and serving Sunday breakfast. The staff are very friendly and accommodating of patrons in the various fields. The farm also serves Sunday breakfast which is less consistent in quality and service. The reviewer has attended Sunday breakfast multiple times and has experienced either good service or extremely poor service. The good services were accompanied by friendly staff, efficient service, and delicious food. The bad services included vanishing waiters/waitresses, rude service, an hour of waiting time after placing orders, and receiving cold food. Based on these inconsistent experiences, the reviewer would highly recommend farm related activities but would be hesitant to recommend the Sunday breakfast. Must Try: Pancakes with seasonal fruit topping. Avoid: Quiche. ⭐⭐⭐ - Good, worth a visit”
