Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New York.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I have only lived in New York for a few years, but this has become our annual pumpkin patch place! It is so much fun to walk the grounds, and they have many activities. The pumpkins are available right up front near the store, or you can hike up the little trail and go pick your own pumpkin from the patch. After you have done all those things, you can go to the little shack where they sell different food items including fresh made donuts. It's just a beautiful place and a wonderful day.”

“We love visiting the Smithome Farm pumpkin patch. We go every year! There is always plenty of parking. The prices are decent for the pumpkins, snacks, and various other activities they offer. My niece loves the hayride and looks forward to it every year and the whole family looks forward to the fresh mini donuts. I love that they grow a variety of pumpkins so you can always find something you love.”

“The homemade mini Donuts were absolutely delicious! Prices were very reasonable for the food. The corn maze was actually pretty challenging! We made through it though. The hayride was a lot of fun although it is very slow moving so compensate the time it takes. Pumpkin prices were decent. The duck race game was cute for the kids. Workers were very nice. Will definitely go again!!!”

“This is a great pumpkin patch!! There are fun, organized activities for the kids (and adults, too!). We had plenty of pumpkins to chose from & great prices. The donuts are delicious-made fresh for us-hot and perfect on a autumn afternoon. This was our first time & we’ll be back. Also, friendly, helpful staff.”

“A cute and peaceful place to enjoy the fall season with family. This year, we did the corn maze and tractor ride, and we also had some fall treats with mini donuts and apple cider. 🍂🍁🌿”

“I stopped by for some sweet corn. The ears were just the right size, not too big or too small. Only $6 a dozen. They also had some other vegetables available at reasonable prices.”
