Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Maine.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“(Pictures of the family eating blueberry pie at a nearby Trail picnic table) first time I've ever gone blueberry picking. This was absolutely the best experience I've had in recent time. The owners were the most absolute sweethearts! They told us that the right way to pick would be to taste and Sample their 13 different varieties of high Bush blueberries and put in the bucket the ones that we would like. Was charged by the pound out of a very very reasonable rate– we brought home 6 lb of blueberries. And don't miss out on their baked goods that might be one of the biggest highlights as well. We got their blueberry pie and I was adamant that I wanted to eat it at a nearby Trail picnic table. Family was starting to get a bit tired but the moment they took a bite of The Buttery soft crust and abundantly overflowing blueberry filling, complaints died down right away. The pie tastes like a turnover! The owners had small blueberry muffins and blueberry lemonade out for people to try and enjoy which was absolutely amazing as well. I definitely will be coming back if I ever can get the opportunity to visit Maine again.”

“I was not too keen on the idea of breaking my back leaning over with a blueberry rake for this place. Fortunately, these grow on upright bushes with no rakes involved. All you need is a provided plastic bucket to fill at your leisure with your nimble little fingers. The bucket fills fast as you will have more trouble not finding blueberries as they are everywhere your eye glances. There's more to it as they also sell homemade nutrients of all sorts. We are especially looking forward to tasting the dandelion jelly on the bread loaf. See pics. There are no pics of the blueberry whoopie pie snacks as they never made it to the truck, gulp!!”

“I wanted to go picking for blueberries during our stay in Maine. I love that it's family owned and we were greeted with friendly staff. Blueberries were plentiful! My partner and I had a great time. They are pretty active on FB so I would check that to see when the season is and whatnot. Fun weekend activity!”
