Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in California.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“My friends and I (a group of people in our 30s) had the best time here! Things to love: Adults get a discount! Here they charge extra for kids - We loved this as people without children in our group - there was room for us to be kids too !! It’s open till 9pm & has the most incredible sunset view! It’s in this area of west Alameda island that’s got an industrial feel to it, the space beyond the patch is vacant so the view is just the Bay & SF. The lighting is cinematic! You will feel like a Lost Boys Vampire - bring your leather jacket & your film camera! Inflatable slides - when we first showed up I didn’t imagine we would go down the inflatable slides but we ended up doing all of them multiple times & we were all giddy as hell from the small burst of endorphins! Again, adults deserve this joy too. Staff - everybody we talked to were so friendly & chill. I can’t recall the name of the guy we chatted with the most but he was from Chicago I think & we loved him. Music! Staff brought a speaker & were playing such fun music, like whoever was responsible for the playlist on Sunday September 29th 2024 , 5-9pm - WELL DONE - keep this person in charge of that !! It also almost looked like a karaoke speaker which also would have been incredible! Pumpkin blaster, it costs extra but was good fun. It is a big intimidating cannon 😬 I enjoyed the simplicity & relaxed vibe of this place so much & will probably be going back with more friends this season!”

“This is an amazing place to bring your kids! The prices are very reasonable. The petting zoo is well-maintained, and the staff is always nearby, making sure both the animals and visitors are taken care of. Everyone who works here is extremely friendly. I bring my kids every year, and we always have a great time! Thanks again Speer family farms.”

“Enjoyable time. Kids we wiped afterwards. The attractions are great for kids ages 5-14. There is a pleasant seating area for families as well. Decent amount of snacks as well. Was really happy to see a little espresso bar added this year. Great spot to take the kiddos for the afternoon! Give it a try.”

“I went here on Monday and had a blast. The wristbands were good for all day and included plenty of parking. My favorite part was the sheep and pigs in the print zoo. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the Cajun food truck was delicious. I would definitely recommend.”

“Amazing place! Super fun for the kids. Def a few hours of family fun! Most low ratings are about the price, which is reasonable TBH. You also don’t pay for babies, just FYI. Just go there, the bouncy castles are amazing!”

“Not a bad experience, possibly priced a bit too high though. There was six or seven bouncy houses, a small petting zoo, hay bale structure, pumpkin gun, and a food truck and snack stand. There's also a little "train" but it was out of order. My daughter had a great time and just went endlessly on the different bouncy houses so it was worth it for us. You can buy pumpkins also but they're a bit more expensive than comparable at one of the supermarkets. I's right at an entrance to the Old Naval Air station, parking wasn't too difficult but the area is a bit dirty and littered with debris.”

“Our kid loved the bouncy castles. Overall, we felt it was a bit overpriced, but fine as our guy had a great time. There was basically zero staff around all the bouncy castles/slides. My one qualm is the petting zoo. The poor animals looked stressed and it was just the early morning only. Reason being that there was little supervision from the staff to ensure that there’s not too many kids/people on the enclosure with the animals. The gate was VERY makeshift and one poor goat was constantly trying to escape. Upon checking the past reviews, I’m seeing that it’s a recurring issue. So I’m leaving this poor review hoping that the owners will see this and address the issue. Please, train your staff properly, so that the poor animals get treated better. If this doesn’t appeal to you, then think about the liabilities if a kid were to get injured. To potential visitors: consider visiting an alternate one with better animal treatment.”
