Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Michigan.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Once you visit all other places will pale in comparison. 🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🌟 Our family has made visits here for decades. All varieties of fresh apples (you pick or pick up), cider, donuts, preserves, honey, pumpkins and more. Pick your own raspberries too. ⬇️THIS is a real orchard and cider mill. Authentic. The real deal. Stiny Creek Orchard & Cider Mill is THE PLACE TO GO. Forget all the silly themes or games, THIS is where you need to go. ❤🍏❤🍏❤🍏❤🍏❤🍏❤🍏❤🍏❤🍏”

“While this Orchard does not have the same amenities as some of the nearby Orchards and cider mills they make up for it by having the best cider and the best doughnuts. And I do mean the best. Better than Big Red, Westview, Blake's, Verellen, Yates, Spicer, Long, Franklin, Dexter, and Uncle John's. Not sure what apples they use of what they do differently but keep it up! I drive an hour to pick up their cider and doughts.”

“The kids loved picking the apples. We have been to several apple farms and cider mills in the area, but the donuts here have been the best by far. Red delicious, yellow delicious, and empire apple selections. Excellent looking fruit. Picked a half bushel for $30 including the wagon ride out to the orchard. We did not buy our pumpkins here, but they were available (I don't think they were grown at Stony Creek).”

“The best cinnamon and sugar donuts we had this fall from a cider mill! Also got hot cider and slushy and both were very good. This is a place for cider and donuts on a fall day. Also a store with apples, honey, pumpkins, cider, donuts, jams and other fall items. Also pick your own apples.definitely will be back next year on our yearly fall cider mill tour!”

“Very quiet & pretty location. So many apple trees & varieties of apples!!! All rows were labeled & the berry patches were fun, with sweet, big berries. Our kid had a fun time! Thanks stony creek. :)”

“My family and I have decided to explore and discover other apple orchards and cider mills this fall since we feel that Blake's has become too busy/commercialized. Let me start off by saying that I would have given this place 5 stars because the apple cider, donuts, and other offerings in the store were amazing!!! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the store and area to get donuts & cider only had stairs to access. My younger brother needs a wheelchair to get around so we'd have to lift him and his wheelchair up 3-4 steps just to get into the store. Thankfully, my mom and I know what kind of things he likes, so we went in the store while him and my dad waited by their nice picnic area under a nice shaded tree. I am pretty sure you would have to go up a step as well to go into the restroom there. I didn't go in to see if they had a wheelchair accessible stall. Good thing the weather was nice and sunny! I have yet to go apple picking here, but the cider by itself blew me away! 11/10 would go here again 😊”

“I am going there from past 2 seasons for apple picking. This season also I went. Currently, they have Macintosh and Jonathan apples for u pick. They also have cider and doughnuts for sale. I have always had good experience here.”

“Their donuts are fantastic! Hot and fresh! Their cider is good (rate it 7 out 10) and very friendly people. I love this place because.... it hasn't changed since..... forever. :)”
