Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in North Carolina.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“The 401 widening project has been stressful for all of us and especially for 87 year old Mr. Strickland that has been running his upick farm operation at 4868 401 in youngsville. The widen project has significantly slowed his business and he has thousands of pounds of sweet corn and beans ready to pick. He informed me no pesticides or herbicides has been sprayed on his produce 👏🏽 He is selling his corn for $6 for a dozen. He doesn’t has social media and has relied on the steady 401 traffic to sell his produce over the years. If you have a minute when driving by, please stop by and help him get his crop sold ❤️”
“So good sweet corn in the best I seen .love it”
“The best Turnip greens and collard”
