What you can pick
In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Indiana, not a guarantee for this exact farm.
Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Indiana.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“This is the second year we’ve picked berries here. Take your own container or you can buy one there. You can also just go and purchase berries already picked. Check their website or FB page for picking hours and which berries are in season as both vary. It was a fun summer thing to do with my daughter. Then she made blackberry cobbler! Yum!”
“A fantastic place for farm fresh berries conveniently located in SW Fort Wayne. Pick your own seasonal berries or buy them at their market plus fresh baked locally made pies featuring the Tanglewood berries. The berries grow on special trellises that make it easy to reach, perfect for kids and adults.”
“Tanglewood Berry Farm is awesome! I love picking berries here. They have expanded quite a bit and now have garden vegetables, fresh cut flowers, and honey. The staff is friendly and the berries are delicious. This is a great hidden gem (in plain sight) in Southwest Fort Wayne.”
“Took my step daughter to Tanglewood today for some PYO berries. She loved it! We picked red raspberries and blackberries. We will be back for the fall strawberries crop. Just wish I would’ve found this place sooner so that I could’ve gotten some black raspberries.”
“Tons of berries available to be picked by you! They also have pre-picked ones, and little homemade pies, too! Their blackberries are huge, plump, and easy to reach in nicely distanced rows. They're very affordable, and their staff are super friendly!”
“The staff here are great! They showed us exactly where and how to know which blackberries to pick! We got 3 lbs of blackberries and we will be freezing some :) It was lots of fun!!”
“Always love to pick blackberries here. They are so tasty! A great experience! The owners are so nice and friendly!”
“Friendly service from the owner and wonderful berries! It makes for the perfect family fun! 💗”
