What you can pick

In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Oregon, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Oregon.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“The Gorge White House Farm We returned after nearly 20 years and were delighted to find this farm even more magical than what we remembered. U-pick offerings included cherries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, pears, strawberries, and even flowers—truly a harvest paradise! It was so much fun wandering from crop to crop, filling our red bucket as we went. No need to separate the fruits—everything was weighed together at a very reasonable $6 per pound. One of the highlights was ducking under the cherry trees to discover clusters of fat, juicy, dark cherries just waiting to be picked. After picking, we enjoyed relaxing at the outdoor tables with tastings of local ciders and wines. The atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming, making it a truly memorable visit. A must-stop in the Fruit Loop for anyone who loves fresh fruit, beautiful surroundings, and a little farm-to-table fun!”

“Yesterday, it popped in my head to sit in the sun with a good drink and bask in the view and the first place that came to mind was The Gorge White House. I visited last year and enjoyed myself so much I had to return. They have a hard cider flight with all flavors made on the premises and they have a rotating set of additional flavors. I tried the raspberry lemonade and was so impressed. I brought my own growler and saved money on filling it and also got a glass. I ordered a sandwich at the food truck and decided to u pick while I waited. The Bing cherries were abundant while the Queen Anne led me on a merry chase. The blueberries, blackberries and raspberries were beautiful and then my text with lunch went off. I now get to enjoy this grilled sandwich and fries. Couldn't have planned it better! Everyone here is helpful and nice. Excellent!”

“Beautiful views, craft ciders, and an amazing food truck on-site. What more could you ask for? I really enjoyed my experience here on a beautiful Oregon spring day. They have loads of outdoor seating to hang out in the sun. A great place to go with a group of friends or family. They have a wide variety of ciders here, ranging from dry to sweet. This is great if you have a big group of people because there’s a different cider for every palate. The burgers served at the food truck also seem to be the main attraction. Everything is sourced locally and all of the ingredients are extremely high quality. If you’re looking for a gluten free option, the gluten free hamburger buns are some of the best around. Overall, I would highly recommend stopping by to spend an afternoon or as a pit-stop on an I-84 road trip.”

“You can fully ignore the (few) poor reviews as long as you understand that the food will probably take awhile to be ready - but once it was done it was delicious. You can walk the grounds, u-pick fruit, or sample their drinks while you wait. We went cider and wine tasting all throughout the Columbia river gorge and this was our favorite place for both! Very cool spot and we will definitely be back.”

“Very cute place that you can do flower peeking, apple picking or pear picking. If you don’t wanna do any activities, you can also just chill under the cover. They have a lot of wine and cider options. If you’re not sure where it’s at, you can always try the flight. Definitely recommend a visit if you’re looking for a weekend getaway close to Portland.”

“What a nice place to pick fruits, enjoy a flight of cider, or eat and hang out in the shade. The ciders are amazing.”

“Open Mar - Dec. Lovely quaint buildings and fields. Outdoor and indoor seating. Small fruit mart and food cart menu options. Delicious and sweet Lemon Pear cider beer and a tart White Peach cider beer was refreshing and such a treat! You can cut daffodils in March. Nice spot to make a stop.”

“Great tasting room with a large variety and beautiful fields to visit.”
