Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Utah.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“As a professional photographer, I’m always mindful of the experience I’m providing for my clients—so after seeing a few mixed conversations in photography forums recently, I wanted to share my actual experience shooting at The Kinlands Fresh Tree Farm in Riverton. And honestly? It was wonderful. From the moment we arrived, everything felt smooth, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. The staff was warm and welcoming, the grounds were clean and organized, and the atmosphere was exactly what you hope for in a tree-farm session—cozy, festive, and full of charm. My clients commented multiple times on how relaxed they felt, and we never encountered any of the issues I’ve seen mentioned online. The trees were gorgeous and plentiful, the open spaces made it easy to photograph without distractions, and the lighting throughout the property was chef’s kiss for golden-hour portraits. We had no trouble navigating the area or finding perfect backdrops with separation and depth. Overall, our experience was seamless, positive, and absolutely elevated the final gallery. I’m so glad we chose this location, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return for future sessions. If you’re on the fence because of a few scattered reviews—take it from someone who was just there: The Kinlands delivered a genuinely lovely environment for both photographers and families. Highly recommend. ✨🌲📷”

“We had our entire wedding including the brunch flowing right after the ceremony in the Garden House and it was just perfect! Ashley the event coordinator was very helpful in answering all of our questions. We rented the place the night before including the staging house so that we could have it all ready in the morning and calmly enjoy the morning before the wedding began. We thought sharing the store bathroom might be a challenge but there were no issues. It would’ve been nice to have one for the garden house to change in but setting up the night prior helped not needing that. I have included photos of our setup and event as I wished I had seen this from others when planning our wedding. This is a great place to do any event as you don’t have to add much to the whimsical airy outdoor feel. Thanks to our photographer @vidrichcreatives (insta) also for capturing everything so well so that we can share it and show off this wonderful place. If you’re thinking about visiting, doing photos, or doing an event here, do it you won’t regret it and the rental price is unbeatable, seriously!”

“My husband and I have always loved coming to The Kinlands for their pumpkin patch and Cheistmas tree farm, so when we found out we could rent their Garden House for events, we were so excited! We held our baby shower in the Garden House and it was the absolute perfect venue for us! Our family and friends had a great time and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful backdrop to celebrate this new chapter of our lives with everyone. Ashlee was very communicative as we had a few questions leading up to our event. We would 10/10 recommend hosting your event here!”

“We had our Wedding here last month at it was AMAZING!! Ashlee, the Kinlands coordinator was incredibly friendly and helpful with any and all questions I had throughout the planning process. The venue was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for as well, many of our guests said it was beautiful in the Arbor House. We really honestly couldn't have asked for a better day, thanks to Ashlee and everyone else at The Kinlands!! Also, shoutout to our talented photographer @neuviewphotography for taking some beautiful shots to be able to share!”

“Super cute farm! The moment you arrive, you’re greeted with festive holiday decorations that make the whole place feel like a cozy little Christmas village. They offer an impressive variety of fresh-cut Christmas trees—tall ones, short ones, fluffy ones, you name it—and the selection of ornaments and holiday goodies is just as charming. The staff are incredibly friendly, genuinely helpful, and make you feel right at home. What a wonderful spot to kick off the holiday season and soak in all the festive cheer!”

“We had a wonderful time at The Kinlands! The greenhouse was stunning and surprisingly comfortable, even on a warm day. While we had some minor logistical concerns during planning—specifically regarding food truck placement and potential congestion with the second event space—everything ultimately went off without a hitch. We are sharing this only as helpful feedback for future events. Thank you for helping us host such a memorable day for our daughter!”

“This is the cutest pumpkin patch I’ve ever been too! Great pumpkin selection without outrageous prices. Fun activities for the kids - no cost or low cost. The market is adorable and smells delightful.”

“Update: after reading the incredibly insensitive response from management I am now leaving only 1 star and would leave zero if I could. We didn’t receive and proof of the stains they claim the caterers left and I don’t appreciate the insinuation that our particular guest were somehow so much messier than others who have held events there. We may be only one family whose business they lost but I also know a lot of people in the community and will be sure to share my negative experience. My husband and I have always loved The Kinlands and have been bringing our daughter there for pumpkins and Christmas trees for years. When he passed a few weeks ago and I started planning his service, I thought it would be a good place to honor his memory. The space was lovely and initially seemed reasonably priced. Unfortunately, we ended up being charged extra for quite a few things that I felt should have been included, like extra chairs and frames for the tables. It didn’t feel good to be nickel and dime. We were also charged a cleaning fee after being told we didn’t clean properly according to the contract. My family stayed after for quite a while to clean, heartbroken over our loss, only to be told we didn’t do a good enough job because a chair fell over from where they were stacked and we left a water ring on the table. Unfortunately, while the service we held was lovely, I would not book the Kinlands for any event in the future. I hope my experience was a one off.
