Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Michigan.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Payment notes on file: Mastercard. Cash still helps at smaller stands.

“If you’re searching for a spot that combines amazing food with fun for the whole family, Red Barn Market is a true gem. Our visit was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The food alone is worth the trip. The blackberry bacon sandwich was a standout-crispy bacon paired with the sweet, juicy taste of blackberries, all layered on fresh bread. It’s a perfect blend of savory and sweet that you won’t find anywhere else. We also tried the blackberry flatbread pizza, which was just as impressive. The combination of creamy cheese, fresh blackberries, and a perfectly baked crust made for a unique and delicious meal. Beyond the food, the petting zoo is a highlight, especially if you love animals. Meeting the Highland cows was a treat-they’re gentle, friendly, and absolutely adorable with their shaggy coats. The petting zoo also has goats, alpacas, and sheep, making it a hit with kids and adults alike. Feeding the animals and getting up close for photos added an extra layer of fun to our visit. Red Barn Market has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. Whether you’re there for a special meal or to enjoy the farm experience, it’s a place you’ll want to return to again and again. Don’t forget to grab a homemade donut or caramel apple before you leave-they’re just as delightful as everything else.”

“This is a great place. Homemade ice cream, cheese, seasoning packets, and much more. They have alcohol flights of hard ciders and ice-cream flights too. Outdoor seating was shaded and they had indoor seating. They had things to do outside, great for kids. Prices are decent for the quality. The pizza looks amazing. One trip is not enough. The hard ciders are great, fruity Michigan goodness. We will fill a howler next time. The sandwiches are unique. This is country goodness at its finest.”

“Red Barn is an incredibly charming MI gem. From the smiling service, cute animals that you can pet and engage with, delicious Adult apple cider, the candy apples in the Fall (my favorite), all the events that capture beautiful family moments, the baked goods, the huge outdoor play area… the list goes on. This place captures all of the feelings you read about in books. It’s our happy place and what we most look forward to appt April.”

“We had the BEST time! We went with our in-laws, sister, and 2 kids (age 4.5 and 1). It was so fun! We loved petting the animals, picking apples, and the tube slide was awesome! We also picked pumpkins, had a delicious lunch, and enjoyed a hard cider flight. The price was great for what the had to offer and the food was reasonably priced as well! We don't live local, but would love to come back another year.”

“What a great place for kids AND parents. The outdoor area was amazing, with live animals, tire swings, and room to run. The indoor space was also great for kids, they had high chairs, and ice cream. It was also fun for adults, because they had hard cider and you could relax knowing your kid was happy. My sister loved the barn cat on the property, it came and sat in her lap!”

“We did the Beyond the Barn experience and loved it! The animals were so fun to hang out with, and we enjoyed walking around the orchard too. The staff was friendly and the people that talked to us about the animals and showed us how to pick apples were really nice and informative! Will definitely be back!”
