A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Michigan.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“What a wonderful little farm and store! On my list of new things to do this year was visit a field of sunflowers. I was able to do that here without spending an arm and a leg to get in. I happily spent my money in the farm store though on some beautiful pumpkins, gourds, popcorn, cheese, and Apple Cider. The farm store also has milk, yogurt, ice cream in cartons, fruit, vegetables and preserves. There’s also a bakery and I believe they had soft serve. Oh - I can’t forget my husband’s favorite - the apple cider slushy! It was a wonderful experience and I’m grateful to cross the sunflower field off my list. Thanks, Twin Maple Orchard!”

“We stopped here after hiking in the area and brought my toddler, it was a cute and fun lil orchard with a playground fun area for kids for $5, I thought that prices were extremely fair and we will definitely be returning! I’ve gone to county line orchard in Hobart,IN my whole life and that place is always so crowded and overwhelming and expensive. Twin maple is definitely more family friendly”

“Twin Maple was a great stop this morning! I scored 5# each of frozen blueberries and pitted tart Michigan cherries. I also bought 2 quarts of fresh strawberries, 2 bunches of fresh asparagus and 2 packages of thick sliced bacon. I look forward to enjoying our local meat and produce!!”

“The kids’ play area has several really fun activities. More than I expected for $5. The on-site market also had a lot to offer for the size of the facility. Highly recommend this place for a couple hours or morning/afternoon for a family with young kids”

“Small farmer's market that sells apples, mums, pumpkins, etc. One can select and purchase from the store many varieties of apples, or pick them from the trees. The store has also milk, ice cream, and cheese.”

“My friend and I have been picking apples all over the beautiful state of MI for years now and we're always looking for new places to visit. This weekend we drove 2 hours to try this new (to us) orchard. Compared to many places we've been to over the years, both large and small, this orchard seemed a bit neglected. We actually thought someone had bought out an abandoned orchard and was trying to bring it back to life lol. Many of the apple trees have large broken branches just laying on the ground still partially attached and dead. Not sure if there was a tornado in the area which damaged so many of the trees or some other disaster. Fallen over-ripe apples don't seem to get picked up and taken away often so they were all rotting and smelly with flies and bees all over them. Tripping hazard because they cover the ground where you walk and aren't just under the tree close to the trunk, they sre very slippery too. Some of the apples we picked directly from the trees tasted like they've been sitting on the kitchen counter for 3 weeks. I've never experienced that before. We did find some of the better tasting crisp apples all the way at the back but never found the fuji ones in the row which was marked with the "fuji" sign. Some of the workers we saw were only picking apples to take them to be sold at the front store. They could probably spend a little time cleaning up in between. Overall, it was a bit of a weird experience and I don't think we will be back. Photos I've included are of all different damaged trees all around us.”

“Too bad the previous review about the peaches wasn’t posted yet , went yesterday and bought a basket of peaches. There was not one good peach, what a waste of money. No quality control( I know it’s a farm but still) .Have been going here for years. Also the apples are so $$$$. I understand it’s a farm but 50$ for a bigger bag of honey crisp apples is insane for u pick. Sorry not coming back. Too bad we’re so far away, would totally go back and return. Also no fun experience for the kids, waited by the tractor and seats and no one came, one gentleman acknowledged us that was directing traffic but said he couldn’t drive the tractor and tried to find someone that waited 15 min and we just decided to walk. Then if you do pick some apples be prepared to tug them back yourself no tractors rides came around to get us. So disappointed”
