A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Wisconsin.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“If you want a great adventure for the family, and a decent price, then this is your stop. The buckets are huge and the berries are excellent. 1 bucket could entertain a couple small kids easily. Not to mention, unlike other u-pick strawberries, you're not picking in the middle of a field and searching for berries while you get an extra dose of skin cancer. The rows are hydroponic. At waste height and covered from the sun. The pick your own bouquet area is a great place for some photo ops and more great quality. The staff are awesome and helpful. Willing to interact with you and your family. Book an appointment soon before the strawberry season is over.”

“Definitely coming here every year for our strawberries! I love that you don't have to crouch down and get strawberry mush all over your shoes from stepping on them. It was a little toasty inside the high tunnel, but it was worth it to not get completely burnt by the sun. This is also much more stroller- and wheelchair-friendly than traditional strawberry picking.”

“Don't miss your chance to pick apples at Warm Belly Farm - Fort Atkinson. We went the first weekend in September. Honey Crisps were perfect. Also, do yourself a favor and get the Blondees. The other varieties are great as well. GREAT family/guest/date spot! Emily (COO) was engaging and super-helpful!”

“They are super nice and generous people that work there, and they are growing delicious fruit the right way. We popped in for an unexpected visit and they gave us a wonderful tour of their hydroponics during the winter! My french in-laws are winemakers and they loved seeing their farm.”

“A hit for sure! Loved the experience, all the fun of strawberry picking minus the mud and blistering sun in your face thanks to the roof they got over it! Super awesome! The strawberries were so juicy and on point!! Love!!”

“Hydroponic grown strawberries are amazing. Thank you for a sustainably grown option. I encourage everyone to check them out!!”

“Amazing apples! With the best staff around. I absolutely love both Warm Belly Farm locations. Highly recommend!”

“This was a very fun experience. The staff are friendly and are willing to share and chit chat about the hydroponic strawberries. The experience makes it worth the expense. And it is very expensive for strawberries, but, as I said the experience added to the taste of those strawberries make it worth the money spent. It was $30 for one bucket and $55 for two (I think they're gallon size buckets??), but don't quote me on that. You can also do some tasting while you're picking your own and you'll see just how delicious the berries were!”
