What you can pick

In October, check what’s currently ripe before you go. Seasons below are typical windows for Michigan, not a guarantee for this exact farm.

Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Michigan.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

448 reviews on file · showing 8 visitor notes from the listing data.

“I’ve been going here for over two decades and the quality of the donuts and orchard has stayed amazing. Picking apples is still an affordable and fun activity, but sometimes the rows are hard to find if it’s later in the season and the apples are in the back. Great pumpkin picking too and you can drive your car back and through the orchard to pick. Main complaint is the line is often long to get donuts, so I recommend going early in the mornings or at non-peak times. The donuts and cider are the best I’ve had though at an orchard, and are always worth the wait!”

“Visited on a school field trip. Farmer John was very good and patient with the kids and provided great, age-appropriate information in the trees, apples, bees, and farm. Slices of several apple varieties were provided throughout (which had the added bonus of keeping small mouths busy during the seated portion.) The tour of the farm included the cider press and refrigerated rooms, withe the luck of seeing a forklift in motion. Donut and cider was provided at the end of the tour. Students were able to pick 5 apples each.”

“$25 for all these apples! We have a pretty good haul here, more than 10 lbs. I love that they have u-pick here. Most places I've looked at aren't doing that anymore. It was busy but we went on a Saturday in October so that's to be expected.”

“Every year. We come. Every year. We are happy. The freshly baked donuts, the beautiful apples or the great pumpkin. Yes, it is crowded. Yes. But there is a reason, this is not an overrated place. We Love them.”

“Went back after 15 years and I'm so glad to see they are still going strong. Hot apple cider and donuts is one of my favorite parts of autumn in Michigan.”

“You pick apples, raspberries and pumpkins. Apples, donuts, popcorn, gourds, plums, pears, honey and cider available to buy.”

“First time going apple picking with family. My 6y really enjoyed. They have ladders to use to pick the higher ones off the branches. They opened only 3 types for apples for picking. Gala, Prime Gold and Macintosh. Gala and Prime gold are sweet. Its a good first time experience for cheap. PET Friendly. They also have a small store that sell donuts and cider.”

“Tiny little farm. For some reason there was a line out the door for donuts and cider. Prices were reasonable. Donuts were ok. Nothing great but ok and warm. See pic of tge inside of store there wasn’t much”
