Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New York.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We went to the pumpkin farm today with my 2 daughters (almost 1 & 2) and we had a BLAST! The owner was so sweet and blew up the bounce house & let us jump on the hayride even though we were the only ones there! We got to feed the baby goats & sheep, there is a little playground for kids to go on with swings (My daughter’s favorite) and a tunnel to crawl through. It was very baby & toddler friendly! Lots of fun Halloween decorations throughout the woods on the hayride! And tons of pumpkins to pick from! Definitely recommend as a fun activity for littles!”

“Stopped in with the kids before Halloween for pumpkins and a little bit of fun. (I'm just now going through the list of places my phone has asked me to review, so bare with my late review haha.) My kids had an absolute blast. My 7 year old played in the bounce house, they loved the cracked corn "sand box" they got to feed and pet a bunch of farm animals, and we all got to pick out the most perfect pumpkins.”

“We absolutely love Wheatfield Pumpkin Farm! 🎃 The pumpkins are beautiful and reasonably priced, making it easy to find the perfect one for the season. The farm animals are clearly very well cared for, and it’s such a joy to see them happy and healthy. A wonderful place for families or anyone looking to enjoy a classic fall experience — we look forward to going back each year! 🍂”

“This pumpkin farm was the perfect thoughtful place to bring our toddler! Farmer Jim made sure he showed us everything we wanted to see, he was so sweet with our son and showing us the many animals. The pumpkins and mums were excellent. Thank you!”

“It’s worth it with our family of 5, you only pay for what you want to do. No admission charge which is great. I like supporting small family owned places.”

“This place is awesome for the whole family! Tractor rides, fun things for the kids to do and great pumpkins!”

“Super fun! Me & my husband had a great time and received beautiful HUGE pumpkins! Wonder first time visit!”

“Great place for younger children(i have 4, 7yr old girls).. not much to do for older ones(i also have 13 ,14 yr old boys) also, i went on hayride after getting the drink n snack(with the family fun pass) n guy asked me for the tickets (thank goodness i had my fiancé's as proof) cuz the woman at the table had ripped up our tickets after getting the drinks n snacks. I felt uncomfortable while telling the guy because it was as if he was thinking i was lying but i showed our last ticket( i bought 6) i think there should be a different system. Best part was the corn maze. Hayride was fun but i suggest to them to check along the trail..near the water (covered bridge) i noticed some erosion on the path..dangerous for the tractor to be traveling along there with so many ppl in the wagons(esp young babies) also says haunted hayride from dusk till close..lady told me the tickets go on sale at a quarter to seven(6:45) now it said hayride every 15mins..but if close at 7...how is that possible? Lol.. if u want a few things to do..great but not a place to spend all day. We were done w things within 2hrs..n left before the haunted hayride(wait was way too long and older children became bored) beautiful land tho..animals were nice to see.”
