Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Colorado.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“We had an outstanding experience with Wishing Star for our granddaughter’s birthday. Jason showed up on time, fully prepared, and managed the entire setup and event on his own—impressive execution from start to finish. The animals are well cared for and incredibly gentle. Alvin was a huge hit with the birthday girl. What really stood out was Jason’s engagement—he didn’t just supervise, he created an experience. He interacted with the kids, shared insights about the animals, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and included. From a planning standpoint, everything was seamless and stress-free. It made the birthday truly special. Highly recommend.”

“My family loves Wishing Star Farm! It's family and veteran owned and the staff are so friendly. Admission is very reasonable and although there is a concession stand on site, we've enjoyed bringing a picnic lunch there. My boys expeically liked the tractor ride, hay barrel ride, climbing and playing on a vintage tractor and fire engine, playing in the massive sand box, jumping on the "blob" and in the bounce houses, going down the pipe slide, and petting and seeing farm animals. We easily spent the whole day there and will be back for sure!”

“Wishing star farm, is absolutely amazing. It was my son’s 3rd birthday and his golden birthday at that and they made it very special! They brought the animals to my home and set up everything and gave the kids rides on the pony’s. And the animals were really friendly. I would do it again, it was such a great experience especially if you love animals. Also the staff at wishing star farm are so kind. They made a dream come true for me and my family🤩🫶🏽”

“First time visit to Wishing Star Farm for the Fall Festivities and celebration of the Halloween season!! We loved it and plan to go back. Highly recommend as there were oodles of activities included with admission, entrance fees were great (cheaper if you order in advance online), concession food was delicious and wonderfully priced!! Just an overall great experience! Staff was polite, friendly, and attentive.”

“I met Jason and the fluffy crew at Ronald McDonald’s House charity event. The animals were so clean and looked well fed and taken care of. Jason told us about their care and their characters. I was with my 5 years old son and he was happy to pet and brush all the pets. He liked the sheep the most. Thank you for such experience! It made our day!”

“Wishing Star Farms is by far the best experience I have had as a Director of a Preschool. We had children ages 1 year to 12 years old, have the opportunity to interact with over 5 kinds of animals. A mini pony, goats, llama, and a donkey! What a wonderful experience, and the price was right! Thank you for such a great summer day!”

“What an amazing family owned farm. We have gone around Halloween the past two years. We have a 2.5 year old and it had been the greatest place for him. We’ve made so many awesome memories there. Highly recommend!”

“We drove over 30 minutes for the animal encounter for our 2 toddlers. Upon arriving, there was literally NO ONE there. I walked the premise and had to end up calling to see what was going on. We were still never greeted. My husband even thought that we had been scammed! The event we paid for was for 2 hours. It lasted approximately 35 minutes of animal encounters BUT the majority of the animals were away at a petting zoo. (This was not told to us when purchasing tickets or I wouldn’t have bought them) Then the rest of the time is playtime. There was zero instruction on where we could play, etc. so I didn’t know where my kids were even allowed to play. The people in charge couldn’t be found to ask. I was insanely disappointed. Not worth the money and We left an hour early.”
