“A diamond in the rough and a great place for delicious treats. We were visiting Lincoln’s hometown of Springfield, Ill and wanted to get a snack. We found this place online. It is a little south of the city and west of the interstate but it is absolutely worth the detour. It is a rustic place called the Apple barn and parking is right in front. Their website gives a lot more information about it being more than just the main shop that is in the barn. They began as a family apple orchard and expanded over the years into a collection of attractions including two restaurants, a general store, a creamery, a winery, a candy factory, and a Christmas shop, all centered around the original barn built in 1910. We only visited the barn with the bakery goodies and the very friendly staff who helped us get some delicious snacks for the trip back to the hotel. It was great! Even if you don't plan to buy anything, it's worth taking some time to visit to get a snack for your trip or, if you are going to walk around the site, for the extra visit. We found it to be one of the more enjoyable stops to the area capping off a great visit to the Springfield, Ill area.”

“So cute, I love this place. Lots of flowers, pumpkins and art to browse; in the little shop they sell some delicious treats, apple cider slushies, foods and other products all homemade and very good and an apple orchard to walk through. What a blast, definitely a place I would bring my kids one day”

“Lots of cool things to buy - mums, pumpkins, gourds, apples, baked goods. Even dog treats! I had the caramel apple cheesecake and it was so delicious! 1/4 a peck of apples was $5 and there are several varieties to choose from. There are larger bags available too.”

“Mums a plenty! Tons of great food here locally sourced. Apple cider donuts are literally to die for - if you are willing to wait try and get them freshly out of the oven (so freaking good). My friends always get the cider slushes and love them as well.”

“The cider donuts and apple cider are amazing. I also got a peanut butter cookie .I didn't buy any cider because it's a lot to drink by myself but I had some and it is delicious. I'll be back with my partner soon.”

“Great place with a wide variety of items available. The pumpkins and mums look to be in great shape. The mixed arrangements are beautiful. We grabbed some goodies for the road! Thanks!”

“This is a really nice place. They have quite a bit of grocery type stuff in addition to what you would expect from an apple barn,”

“Very beautiful store, nice items. Only that instead of being boxed carefully, my 6 cider donuts were crammed into a small paper bag w no love. I was getting for a friend, it looked so bad, I had to stop at some place else to get some other baked items.”
