Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in California.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

What visitors say

“I've been going to Apple Hill for 30+ years. There are bake shops, crafters, fresh fruits and vegetables, food, wineries and so much more. The atmosphere is refreshing, fun, happy, exciting and peaceful. The Fall/Winter time is the busiest time of the year. Some places are closed during the Spring and Summer, but the ones that are open offer lots of summer fruits and you'll always find great Apple pie and other fruit pies. Apple Hill is an amazing beautiful experience. You definitely will be taking a lot of pictures.”

“First visit. Plenty of visitors early in season. I could imagine seeing it with snow & more bodies. Plenty of arts and crafts to browse/ purchase. Donuts were (1 reason for our almost 2 hr drive 😆) spot on. Terrain a bit unstable in areas(use caution when walking) and the parking might need more people/ guidance with higher capacity. Be patient. Many people, strollers& pups so use caution. Have fun.”

“A new tradition only started last year. Wonderful way to start your fall season! Make sure to get a donut and bring home an apple pie to enjoy... or maybe two! Nice vendors with cool stuff, so bring extra money!”
