Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Tennessee.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“This is going to be one of our favorites, the staff was super friendly, very intimate smaller farm, it sits right on the river which is beautiful on a warm October day. We paid $25 dollars for all the activities. They have pumpkin slingshots ( you get five mini pumpkins) to hit a couple of targets. They have a small petting zoo(3 or 4 goats and a calf) they have seating areas in the barn and a covered pergola outside, the food menu is really good, hot dogs, nachos and pulled pork sandwiches, the apple cider slushy and donut combo we're delicious. They have packaged condiments. On our way out the owners had spoke to us briefly, super friendly and courteous. He joked about us hiking down by the river, they have swing chairs on an A frame on the river. They also have a hay ride and hay swings. Good place for the kids not as busy as other areas. Come down to Blackburn Farm and enjoy the scenery, food and relaxing atmosphere. A lot more things for the kids to do.”

“We had an amazing time spending Halloween at Blackburn Farm. So much so that I think it’ll be a new annual tradition for our little family! We opted for this experience rather than trick or treating with our 2 year old & we made a great choice. All of the workers were very friendly. I really enjoyed the free-roam aspect where every activity was “self-serve”. I loved how every activity was included in the wristband price/ entry fee. So much fun for kids of all ages & adults who are still kids at heart (like myself). There was so much to do that we weren’t able to experience everything in the time we were there. (that’s a compliment) The animals were so adorable and well behaved. The property itself is just beautiful and felt so homey. The owners have done an impeccable job making this experience one that will be remembered for a lifetime. p.s: YOU NEED TO TRY THE APPLE CODER SLUSHY!!!”

“This farm is beautiful! There’s so much to do for the kids, even my teens had fun. They have an actual pumpkin patch which has been hard to find close to home. A lot of farms just throw locally grown pumpkins on some grass and call it a day. The music is good, atmosphere is warm and inviting! Workers were friendly! The highland cows made this place 10/10 for us! We will be back!”

“We tried Blackburn Farms this year, after years of going to Oakes Farm, and it was AMAZING! This will be our yearly pumpkin patch visit moving forward. A lot for the kids to do, not overly crowded and let me just tell you… the Apple Cider slushy and donut were to die for! Beautiful views and very friendly staff. Go here!!! You can thank me later.”

“This was an incredible experience. Even as adults without children, we had such a great time. It's very kid friendly for those who do have children and there's lots to do for all ages. Super cute and adorable and the owners are phenomenal people. I highly recommend trying to chitchat with them if you get the opportunity.”

“This place is so great for kids young, old and young at heart! They have so many activities offered for the whole family to enjoy. The ambience is beautiful and the price for everything was perfect 👌. Thank you for making our day so much fun. This will be our new family tradition!”

“Our favorite pumpkin patch! They have delicious cinnamon sugar donuts, apple cider slushies, pulled pork nachos and cute merchandise. It looks like an East Tennessee Magnolia farm and has lots of fun activities. Can’t beat the prices!”

“This definitely seems like a great place to go if you have children. It’s very scenic and there is a lot to do. The apple cider doughnut was very good. Unfortunately some of the things we were looking forward to were unavailable. They weren’t selling tickets that included pumpkins because they were running out. You can purchase them separately but they looked like sad pumpkins. We were also looking forward to the apple cider slushy. We were told (in a very unapologetic way) that they weren’t serving slushies right now. It would have been nice to know that before waiting in the line. Overall, still a good experience. Just a little disappointed that we missed out on a few advertised opportunities.”
