“Boone Hill Plantation was one of the highlights of our trip to Charleston. From the moment we drove under the stunning avenue of oak trees, the entire property felt like stepping into another era. The grounds are beautifully maintained, peaceful, and full of history around every corner. What really stood out to me was how much there is to experience beyond just the main house. We loved walking through the gardens, exploring the historic cabins, and learning about the plantation’s complex history through the exhibits and tours. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about sharing the stories of the property. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend hours just wandering and taking everything in. Whether you’re interested in history, photography, or simply enjoying a beautiful Charleston landmark, this place is worth every minute. I would absolutely recommend visiting Boone Hill Plantation to anyone coming to Charleston. It was memorable, educational, and one of the most beautiful places we visited during our stay. 5 stars all the way!”

“Beautiful plantation house and grounds. Gardens are beautiful and the 200yr old live oak trees are magnificent. So much history there and very well presented with live speakers, videos and printed info. Tractor pulled a wagon for a tour through the property and farm with a tour guide that was very interesting. The live Gullah culture presentation was wonderfully and very entertaining. Fascinating place, beautifully preserved, and staff is very respectful in honoring and recognizing the enslaved that worked on the property. Their history and stories are preserved and presented in artifacts, videos, and live presentations. Highly recommended visit.”

“A truly unforgettable Charleston experience. The Avenue of Oaks alone is worth the trip — that quarter-mile canopy of moss-draped trees is even more breathtaking in person than in The Notebook. But Boone Hall delivers far more than a photo op. The Gullah Culture presentation is moving and authentic, the original brick slave cabins are sobering and beautifully preserved, and the tractor tour through the working fields gives real perspective on this 738-acre property’s 340+ years of history. Knowledgeable guides handle the difficult history with honesty and care. Plan on at least three hours. Easily the best plantation in the Lowcountry.”

“The iconic oak tree driveway with trees over 250 years old makes Boone Hall absolutely breathtaking before you even get out of the car! The entire property is so beautiful and full of history. What made the experience even better was how friendly and welcoming all of the staff were. We loved that you can explore so much of the grounds at your own pace, really taking everything in, and the house tour was a great addition as well. It was such an awesome experience getting to walk the property, learn about the history, and see everything up close. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the Charleston area!”

“We had a great experience visiting Boone Hall Plantation. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and the entire visit felt both peaceful and thoughtfully preserved. We especially appreciated how informative everything was—from the history shared throughout the property to the exhibits that gave deeper context about the plantation’s past. It’s clear a lot of care has gone into maintaining the site and presenting its history in a meaningful way. We left feeling like we learned a lot while also enjoying the scenery. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!”

“This was great. The tour inside the house was very informative of the history. The Grounds and Garden is beautiful with the 300yr old Oak trees laced with Spanish Moss. The sad story/history of Slaves introduced to southern states and what the conditions were during that time and how it has evolved. The history of the Plantation and the profitable commodities the Slaves labored for. Highly recommend this Tour.”

“We had great day. I live local but hadn't visited Boone Hall for years. I liked the fact that the ticket was all inclusive, the tours were brief and informative. The staff were all friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs and spoke well of coworkers. The flower gardens were beautiful. Well done!”

“The grounds and flower gardens are great. We advise you to take the tractor ride as it's pretty fun. We saw a bald eagle on ours. When you do the house tour, you only get to see a few rooms so that was kind of disappointing. Also the house itself is kind of modest in its decor. All in all it was a fun outing but we enjoyed the property more than touring the house. On a side note, their strawberries are amazing 🙂”
