Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in South Carolina.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Went on a Friday to avoid the weekend crowds. The kids loved the dog show, pig race and magician. Show times were spaced out to allow viewing of all. Great idea. Donate a few cans for admission is a great idea as well! Walked over to the rides. They were your average carnival rides, didn’t blow expectations. Kids were disappointed some were closed due to insufficient staffing. We asked if they would open them one guy said yes, other said no and it never happened so that stunk. Overall it was a good experience and fun. Plenty of cops/sheriffs present to feel safe. Parking in & out was easy. Def a fun adventure with the kids.”

There are several shows included with admission like a clown/comedy show, dog show, races, pie eating contests, etc. There are several food trucks and traditional carnival food. Recommend coming the 1st weekend in order to get you pick strawberries they are gone by the second weekend. There are carnival rides like bumper cars, ferris wheel, swings, etc. Ride tickets and wrist bands are cash only.”

“The Lance Gifford magic show is amazing. I’ve seen a 100 shows but can’t figure out their magic. It’s incredible to see live. The entire festival is very well put together with so much fun, food and entertainment. Also, Meghan does a wonderful job face painting my kids each year and who wouldn’t enjoy strawberry picking with the prettiest berries on the east coast? You lose if you miss this event.”

“We had an amazing day! Great rides and fun foods. Cute shows and other entertainment for the kids. It was a little pricey. We spent $175 in 4 hours. Admission, unlimited rides (for 2 kids) candy apples, lemonade, coffee and face painting. Our group was 1 mom, and a 12 and 4 year old. It was crowded but we were still able to get on lots of rides and purchase drinks without waiting terribly long.”

“Not as advertised. Paying for tickets gives you nothing. If you wanna pick berries, you have to buy their baskets after the tickets. Anything else there’s a whole lot more money on top. You can’t bring any food or drinks inside or concealed weapons. Every little thing is very overpriced and where you can pick berries in their field it’s very controlled. They won’t tell you until you’re there. Also, if you have little kids, you can’t take your stroller to the picking area. You have to park in a spot with everyone else’s strollers. I love picking strawberries , but I recommend going somewhere else.”

“If you have a family of small, 2-7 year old children, it's okay. Not much to appeal to adults. They had like 6 rides and they were kiddie rides. They had ONE craft vendor that sold earrings. Would have been nice to see more. The strawberries for sale were a weird dark color and bitter. Won't return unless the event corrordinators make changes.”
