Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in South Carolina.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“This was our first time going to the Pumpkin patch! Our family absolutely loved the whole experience. It will definitely be a yearly family tradition to come here! The corn maze was done very well!!! You must ride the hayride!!! Super fun for everyone and not your everyday ride lol! Also all the activities for the kids! Petting zoo, acrobatic show, pig race and clown putt putt!! We had a blast!!! I want to also let the owners know!!! Every volunteer was so friendly and polite!!! It was wonderful to go to a festival that you felt at home and the volunteers did that for us!!”

“There is a great variety of activities for all ages. My 10 year old loved the jumping pillows. My 5 year old loved the miniature ponies and the bounce houses. The baby really enjoyed the hay ride. Suprisingly the path through the corn maze was smooth enough to easily push the stroller. Wheel chairs will have no problem either. For me, seeing the whole family enjoying themselves was well worth the price and drive to get here. Oh, bring cash for the food and snack vendors.”

“Awesome place for kids, the hayride is usually their favorite, as well as the giant bouncy pads. They have a pretty good selection of food, the kettle popcorn is my favorite. It's a little expensive to get in, but for a once-a-year event, I think it's worth it, and the kids have an absolute blast. I'd like to see some permanent bathrooms, not just porta potties, but all in all, it's a great place and a lot of fun.”

“First time going with the family the last weekend they were open and everyone had a great time! Their Wagon ride was probably the most enjoyable out of all we’ve been on. Their petting zoo area was a lot of fun also the animals were happy to get all the pets and eat all Carrot’s. We will be back next year!”

“We took a family outing for some fall fun, including pumpkin picking, hayrides and corn mazes. Most of the staff were polite, a few were very kind and one employee was outright rude. My son and I were interested in the live bee exhibit so we waited our turn in line, smiled at the employee and asked a question. He didn’t respond and wouldn’t make eye contact with me. My son has Autism so I’m especially empathetic about giving people the benefit of the doubt. The employee may not have heard me or recognized I was asking for information on the exhibit he was operating. So I tried again, louder and positioning my body where he could for sure see me and read my lips if need be. He then walked around me and went to help the next person in line who pointed out that I needed help. The employee ignored the other gentleman and started giving him the rundown on how the hive worked. At that point I stepped to the side and watched him enthusiastically assist everyone else that came through the line. My husband was ready to go then because we really couldn’t think of any other reason he wouldn’t want to talk to us except we were the only black family. Trust me, we weren’t too keen on spending our money at a place named plantation in 2024 but it was recommended as an Autism/neurodivergent-friendly venue which is hard to find. I said let’s at least do the hayride since we’d already paid. In the line the family behind us made sure to keep at least a car and a half of distance between us and them. Even the staff noticed and asked them not to have gaps in the line to which they refused and the poor staff just looked at us awkwardly. The corn maze was well done, the hayride was interactive, but the petting zoo was a bit crowded with too many animals (and people on top of each other). Price: $15 per person, with online fees it was $50 for 2 adults and a preschool child. Free parking, handicap accessible spots available at front. EDIT: I’ve added another star. I learned this company did offer a specific Sensory friendly event on a set date and for set hours at a discounted price. Also, I left our son’s temporary adaptive stroller here by mistake. The staff working the security/ lost and found were incredibly kind when my husband went to pick it up. He also said that when he went on Saturday around 4pm for the stroller there was a much more diverse crowd than when we went at 10 am last Sunday.”

“Been attending this with my husband and two kids annually for over a decade and this last Sunday, 10/19/25, was our first completely awful experience, completely unresolved. We've been so often, we know that our two favorite attractions were the hay ride and the corn field. Because of this and having a child with sensory issues, we always plan to go the last hour of the event to have time for both. Arrived like usual, got in line for the hay ride first. This was the start of down hill, fast. Trash cans were way too close to the lines and had yellow jackets flying everywhere, mingling way too close with the crowds. Speaking of crowds, they crowded people in on their new, upgraded hay ride hitches. So much so that we were at the front of the line watching them load everyone up, saw it was at capacity and attempted to wait for the next. Instead, someone who we presume was in charge came barking at the employees to put more of us on there. I literally had to ask people to move because they wanted us to fit. Got off the ride at 430 and attempted to walk around it to enter the corn field maze. Stopped by a non English speaking employee, told it was closed. The event was open til 5 and they stopped us at 430 going into the corn maze. My husband asked for a manager when we made our way up front. After a chain of command leading up to 445pm, we asked about the situation and was told they close it at that time to ensure everyone is out by 5. We mentioned not a single employee from parking to purchasing entry, to getting our wrist bands, to waiting in line - not a single person bothered to say hey, by the way, such and such closes at this time so plan accordingly. Manager said he'd train his staff on that (nobody we encountered could speak English beyond basic amounts, or telling us "closed" and having to gesture beyond that if more was trying to be conveyed at any time there. My husband asked if we could get a rain check, and we were told no. Absolutely no resolution for us. We spent over $45 for 3 of us to only ride a hay ride. Manager told us it always been this way (it hasn't), that we could've gone to any of their other attractions instead (no thanks), did not care that we could've had at least 15 minutes to let our 11 year old enjoy herself. But no. Apparently, we should've known better and that was that. Honestly, it broke my heart. I've been telling my clients over the years that this is the one thing we look forward to because it had been amazing. Not anymore. It felt like a money grab at the cost of what could've continued to be a lovely family experience. We intended to return with more people next weekend for our daughter's first Fright Night experience. Not after this. Absolutely no intention to turn our experience around. We are now inspired to search elsewhere for family-oriented festivities. So disappointed in the experience and the energy put into NOT wanting to resolve. How easy could that have been to turn around for us? Would love to give this no stars, but the one star is for the parking lot attendant. He was the best part of the whole experience, guiding us to a spot even closer to the entrance when we parked. Shout out to that guy.”
