Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Iowa.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I have been deer hunting at BURR OAK FARM from 2007 to 2021. They grow beautiful apples and fruits on the farm. Bill and Kathleen are very nice people. If you like apples and fruits stop by the farm, you will be glad you did.”
