Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in North Carolina.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Went strawberry picking today and I was very impressed with the way this farm operates its strawberry patch. Upon arrival there were 2 people with safety vests directing traffic and showing patrons where to park. This was very efficient because I didn't have to spend time driving around. I like the strawberry patch is near the road so when you're done you just hop in your vehicle and head out. The patch is huge and there was a ton of picking to do. Everyone who worked there was very nice and welcoming. One thing I didn't check was accepted payment methods. They only take cash and checks. I'm someone who mostly uses my debit card. I was lucky to have exactly $17 on hand to pay for my $15 worth of berries. Great experience overall. I will definitely do all my picking at this wonderful farm.”

“A wonderful place to spend time with family. 🍓This year, the basket prices are $8, $20, and $25. 🍓We’ve already been strawberry picking twice and will probably go one last time at the end of May. One hour is absolutely enough to explore the area, pick strawberries, and take photos. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend visiting this place with kids.”

“Let's get into this review! This is our second time visiting. The prices have gone up since our last visit but hey, what hasn't!! We enjoyed ourselves. It wasn't crowded and not too hot. There's a lot of strawberries out there! Grab the family and go picking!”

“It’s a strawberry field and stand. Free parking. You buy a basket and pick your own strawberries and maybe eat a few on the spot. They are very tasty and smell great.”

“Strawberries everywhere!! You’re also allowed to eat as many as you want while you’re there, so go pick at Carrigan Farms! 🍓”

“Would recommend you come a few days after it rains and dries up vs the day after unless you want to get SUPER muddy. Wear rain boots if you do. Cute experience overall. Bring cash since it's cash only.”
