A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in North Carolina.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.

“The DeFarm staff were absolutely amazing, kind, & helpful! My family & I went for the blueberry picking but we ended up making a whole morning out of it. They are very toddler friendly and encouraged the kids to eat some berries since they are NO-SPRAY!! :) they use other resourceful DIY tactics to keep birds & pests away. After picking our blueberries, the staff encouraged us to check out the moss covered trail to take a quick walk to the creek. It was gorgeous and shaded which felt nice to explore after being in the sun picking berries. The cherry on top was stepping in the shallow & cold creek to cool off and my children loved it! They have a bathroom in a little shack and a cooler in there where we left our berries to go on the trail so they weren’t cooking in the car. Totally recommend going for the great experience. My toddlers enjoyed picking the berries & cooling off in the water.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ De’Farm on Blueberry Hill is the real deal. No pesticides — not even the so-called “safe” ones. You can pick berries right off the vine and eat them without a second thought, and every single berry tastes amazing: fresh, sweet, and packed with real flavor. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful, and it’s clear they put a lot of care into running the farm. Whether you’re there to pick your own or just stopping by to grab some of their homemade jam (which is just as fantastic as the berries), you feel good supporting a place that does things the right way. Highly recommend — places like this are rare.”

“What truly sets this place apart is the family-friendly charm—whether you're there for a relaxing morning of picking, a fun outing with kids, or just to support a hardworking local business, you’ll leave with full buckets and an even fuller heart. The blueberries were plump, sweet, and bursting with flavor, clearly grown with care and pride. You can taste the difference! The rows were beautifully maintained, making picking easy and enjoyable for all ages. We’ll definitely be back next season—and bringing friends! Highly recommend supporting this local treasure. 💙”

“What a great find this beautiful farm is! There is a wide variety of blueberries and the bushes were loaded (yummy). After we picked our fill, Glenn gave us a very interesting tour through the wooded area where he grows mushrooms. He then showed us where to walk a short moss covered trail that led to a creek, which was a wonderful treat. Both Glenn and Gail could not have been more welcoming and gracious - very special people! And don’t leave without a jar (or more) of Gail’s amazing jam. 😋”

“We had such a wonderful experience here! The owners were incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel at home. The blueberries were fresh, delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. It’s clear they take great pride in what they do, and it shows in both the quality of the farm and the customer experience. We will definitely be back and highly recommend stopping by if you’re looking for a fun outing and amazing berries!!”

“A great find for our family of blueberry lovers! Well maintained blueberry bushes, no chemicals used per the owners. They have baskets for you to pick into and a double bagging system for taking your picked blueberries home. $26 for a gallon of blueberries in July 2026. Very friendly owners!”

“Such a great time spent there picking blueberries today. You can’t get them any fresher. Loved the history behind how it came to be the De’Farm on Blueberry Hill. Gail gave our small group a tour and history on the Biblical Garden. Gail and her husband are very outgoing and informative.”

“Third year coming, and it gets better and better! Has become one of our favorite family traditions- blueberry picking. The owners are the sweetest. Best blueberries around. There’s more besides blueberry picking- so much to explore on this property.”
