Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in North Carolina.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We just went to Carter Blueberry Farm today for the first time ever and it was wonderful! It was their last day of the season but there were still lots of blueberries left to pick. We couldn’t help but to taste-test a few as we were picking and the taste was so much better than the ones we would usually buy at the store. They have great prices & they even offer a 10% discount for military members and their families (which we were able to use). On top of that, there was a very kind woman working the register who also gave my son and husband some extra pieces of candy (Airheads) which was the metaphorical “cherry on top” of our fantastic day at the Carter Blueberry Farm! Absolutely recommended 10000%!”

“I am 80 old. Been going to Carter Blueberry farm for 40 years. It used to be a strawberry farm. This is a great place to pick blueberries. I had Conner and Luc do the picking for me. I already have 3o ponds and need more. I can't wait to get more next week July 22/2025. The folks at Carter are so kind, nice and make you feel welcome. Thank you Carter people.”

“Absolutely great little blueberry farm. The prices are great plus they have concessions if you need a drink or to cool off. I highly recommend it. Just make sure you go early if you want to beat the heat. And if you want some ideas for what to use all the blueberries for they offer recipes on their website. All around great place.”

“This was such a wonderful experience with the family. Pro: - cheap - family friendly - baby goat to pet - kid friendly and safe - you get to keep what you pick - easy parking - staff Cons: - location. It was quite the drive We went as a family and will be going back every season!”

“This pick your own style blueberry farm is the best yet! A Fayetteville gem. The staff/owners are amazing. Annual visits are a must for my family and friends.”

“Three years in a row! Picking blueberries in Carter has been a fun bonding experience for my family. Abundant, sweet, juicy, and reasonably priced fruit!”

“Love this place! Great fields of blueberries - tasty and sweet. Well maintained. Staff is friendly. Made 2 visits this season. Will return next year.”

“We picked on one of the last days of the season and still found so many! This has become a yearly tradition! We love it here!”
