Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Maine.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Decided to check out Conants Orchard today. They did not disappoint. The best apple cider slushies and pumpkin iced coffee! And don't get me started on the donuts! I don't eat donuts, ever and this was absolutely delicious. Everyone was so friendly, and we really enjoyed picking our own apples! I highly recommend that if you have a spare moment, go on over and check it out. I also grabbed some homemade dilly beans!”

“This is an annual tradition for our family. apple and pumpkin picking. it is out first year at Conants and we absolutely love it and will be back every year from now on to carry on our family traditions. love the fresh and local variety of foods and love supporting this business and if you want more than apples and pumpkins there is a great variety and top quality foods. ♡”

“My daughter and I just went to the new ice cream and coffee shop they've opened and it was absolutely fantastic!!! Hands down best place around. The chocolate, peanut butter milkshake was the best I've ever had!! Do not drive by without stopping. The animals are gorgeous and very well taken care of. I'm a very satisfied customer!!”

“Great staff. Super helpful and friendly. They welcome dogs on a leash. You can pick your own apples or buy at the store. Also has local products such as pickles, jams and syrups. Hay rides available, weather depending. Parking lot is easy and right in front of the store. Handicap accessible.”

“We did a few orchard stops on our way from bar harbor and this place was super cute. Very friendly. Had lots of stuff! We couldn’t get much cause of traveling, but we did try the donuts, cider and the blossom drink which was a slushy with a donut. All very good. Worth the side trip.”

“Had a lot of fun taking our boys to pick apples in mid September. Trees were loaded and ready for picking. They're marked with colored ribbons to denote the types of apple. Also loved the drive out from Bangor. I imagine it'll be even more beautiful during peak foliage!”

“Well I guess I will start with the good things that I can share about this place is that it is clean and that the employees seem friendly. However, I'm trying not to be too harsh but the service was super slow and the prices were outrageous. I went to this place when only 2 other customers were there. I ordered a dessert that they refer to as a "conant cup". It took about 10 minutes to get it after ordering. The cup is about 75% oats (super inexpensive) with a few berries, bananas and fudge. It cost $15.00 a cup. This is something that I could have made at home for probably $1.50. They offer food to feed the animals that you have to pay for. They have the vending machine set up to barely fill the palm of your hand for $0.50. For other options for nearby apple orchards this place will be my last choice going forward. I was pretty disappointed.”

“Today my best friend and I went to get apple cider donuts/slushies and a few other things sold here. We have been going there the last three years and have never had any issues. Employees were always great, service was great, and the food/drinks were great. This year was different and the worst experience we have had. We came early to avoid the lines, which it wasn’t busy at all. There were just a few people there. Upon trying to pull in to park, a guy that works on the farm came flying down through the parking lot, almost hit us and then was tailing us on the road as we were trying to park. He almost hit us for a second time. We were one of the first people in there. The slushy machine wasn’t even on. We had to wait a half hour to get one. Then when we did, it wasn’t cold and it was all just cider. I mentioned to the lady who made it that it wasn’t ready. She pointed to the machine as if it was. I said I have had them many times and they were actually slushies. This was all liquid. I just mentioned it for others who get them. It was very disappointing as this was all I came for. All of the employees inside were great except for that one. She was rude and essentially blew me off. She didn’t offer to make another one, didn’t apologize, offer a refund, nothing. In terms of the in store experience, it would have been fine if she wasn’t rude and at least apologized. She was very dismissive on my genuine concern. The cost of what I paid isn’t important but I spent a good amount of money in there on other things aside from this. It’s poor customer service. My best friend also got a slushy and hers was the same. She had the same experience as I did. It’s sad because this was an annual thing. I get people have bad days but it shouldn’t reflect in your customer service.”
