Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Illinois.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“don’t understand any of the bad reviews. me and my family have been going here for 5 or 4 years. we started going here during Covid! and it has been the best pumpkin patch we’ve ever been to. our family loves it! we love how it’s so small and cute and not crowded ever, we love the area and everything about it. everytime we have seen someone that works there, they’ve always been very nice!!:) we loved the self serve but I understand not being able to do that anymore, because people can’t be honest and pay themselves without anyone there. It’s disappointing that we can’t have that kind of stuff bc there are dishonest people out there :( we LOVE Dave’s pumpkins :) always cute pics too!”

“Dave's is our families go-to pumpkin patch! We go every year and love everything about it. It is exactly what a pumpkin patch should be. It has everything you need a super fun hayride that changes every year, a small corn maze, plenty of photo ops, amazing quality pumpkins that last until and way past Halloween, tons of different varieties of pumpkins, delicious cravable apple cider donuts and an amazing staff of people who love what they do and it shows in how they treat their patrons. It is a perfect place to spend some quality family time and support a small business. We can't wait to visit again next year!”

“What a fantastic place! Hayrides ($5) small maze for fun,. Great place and Very affordable for family’s, couples, singles. All pumpkins are one price ($8 a pc) it does not matter how big or small. Just a heads up . They operate on the honor system. You can pay cash, or check . They have metal box’s set up with instructions on how to pay or you can scan the QR code with a smartphone to pay digitally. Parking is free. Checking it out before Halloween come and goes!”

“We had a great time going at night! It feels like a hallmark movie with all the string lights and cute corn maze and places to play. Kids were 4, 7, 9. We did the night time haunted hayride which was super fun and a good length for littles, not too scary for our 4 year old. Then the kids had fun just running through the corn maze in the dark for an hour. It’s a very small maze, but the dark added to the excitement!”

“This is great place to take the family! It’s not too big but plenty of activities, like hayride, pumpkin bowling and checkers. The kids enjoyed the bubble machine! All the employees were friendly and welcoming. The kids really enjoyed the hayride. It’s also not overwhelming like some other pumpkins farms. You are there just the right amount of time. I would highly recommend to anyone!”

“Mostly inexpensive fun. $8 (for any size) pumpkins, $3 per person (for about a 10 minute) hayrides and $7 per 1/2 dzn apple cider donuts. So.... 3 pumpkins, 3 hayrides, and a 1/2 dzn donuts for $40. We spent anout an hour there, took about a million pictures, did the micro-sized corn maze, and the smoke bubble machine was really cool. We'll do it again next year.”

“My 5 yo daughter had an amazing experience! She enjoyed playing on the tractors, maze, and especially the hayride! The donuts are a must as well! This pumpkin patch is very scenic and makes for amazing photos. I would like to acknowledge Diane. She serves each and every customer with a smile.”

“OK so I do like the idea of the small town pumpkin patch. This was small and cute with a few small things for kids like straw and bubbles but not much else. They did have a hay ride which is pretty cool and winds through the woods with animated characters. While I appreciate “all pumpkins for $9, there are a lot that are smaller and I could see going for less. Just a thought. Also, cash or check only unless you scan a QR code for an online pay option.”
