Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New York.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“LOVE!!! Must go! We will definitely be back!! Awesome place, great people and prices! Family, kid and dog friendly. Huge pumpkin patch, they have animals, lots of mums and plants, cider and apple donuts, fresh veggies and fruits that you can also pick yourself, pick your own flowers like zinnias and huge sunflowers! Just a huge awesome place you can spend the day with your family. They have fun events like a corn maze, hayride and a zip line. Their prices were really great we got 6 huge pumpkins for $17! The girl was very sweet and helpful. We will definitely be back. Must go for a fun fall day.”

“We have been going to Engelke for the past 5 years. It's a small, family run farm with very friendly staff. They have lots of produce, some animals you can feed, zip line, and other seasonal fun. Our favorite time to go is in the fall for pumpkins. Prices are reasonable, selection is great and different, and it can be a nice short outing with little ones. *Now been going for 11 years, and this is still our favorite local farm! Their pumpkin variety is so unique and prices still very reasonable. I'm always recommending Engelke Farms to everyone.”

“Great spot and well priced. Staff are more than friendly and really go out of their way to help you out. Plus it's a local family store. Not a big box corporation sucking money out of the local economy. Shopping here is better for all of us.”

“Beautiful plants, pick your own raspberries and the best mums in the fall. They also have animals the kids can feed and some cute walking trails on the property you can access. And in the fall a cider donut shed!”

“What a cool place! Our dog loved the walking trail and creek. The animals were great and we grabbed some fresh donuts and plants. Also saw a neat bird, a Killdeer. Was a lovely Sunday walk!”

“So I called and was told they sell hot cider donuts, so I stopped by to check it out and engulfed. There is no real store building, but there is a greenhouse type of building with some gourds and scented brooms, etc. There is a little animal feeding area with chickens and roosters, a pig, two ponies, and 1 goat (that's what I saw), then there is a shack of sorts that does the donuts. Unfortunately my donuts were not hot or fresh out of the fryer, but none the less I ate one when I got to my car and they were quite tasty! While exploring the grounds they seem to have a zip line, cornmaze, pumpkin patch and a wagon that takes you somewhere. It's a cute location and definitely worth the visit if anything I've mentioned tickles your fancy.”
