A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Wisconsin.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“*Update: Apples are ready to buy by the bag if you go on Tuesday or Thursday morning as of our visit, today 8/18/22. The Zestars...oh, the Zestars...bought 3 bags....yummy! Each year we start in August with apple picking, and end up here in October for pumpkins. They have other delights (including raspberries)...but the real treat is their already picked bag of honeycrisp apples...if you are willing and able to pay a little more than the other brands (also all tasty and delicious...never bit into a bad apple from here), I have never eaten a better apple than the honeycrisp from Eplegaarden. And they usually have hay rides if you're into that kind of thing. Mange Takke, Eplegaarden!!!”

“A great stop for something different. You pay up front for a small or large bag and you take a wagon and start picking your own apples. Tons of different apples to choose from. Bring your walking shoes and bring the kids. A simple but nice playground is available for the kids. Also you can purchase locally sourced honey, syrup, cider, etc inside the store. A very cool stop on our way home from Green Bay. Highly recommend.”

“We went here today with our 16 mo old. We are in from out of town and apples are his favorite. He had a wonderful time. Everything is so reasonably priced and getting to pick your own was so fun. There was such a large selection of apples (amount and variety). We also got to pick grapes which I never thought we would do. Delish concord grapes. We would tell anyone to go again.”

“We love coming here, we've been coming since my 7 year old was a baby. We love how family friendly it is, even Covid won't stop us from enjoying this beautiful valley. We love their barn full of goodies; they have jams, fresh apple cider (the best I've ever had), bag of apples, apple cider donuts and more.”

“Amazing fresh crisp apple cider, brats, cider donuts, what’s not to love? Pick your own apples, pumpkins, flowers, grapes and more! Super cute farm store and lots of tables to eat your food there. Also a barn that can be rented for events.”

“Easy to maneuver orchard, good signage. Didn't see any picking poles, so the best apples were still up top! Paid $20 for a 5lb. Bag of pick your own apples and $7 for concord grapes.”

“Saturday morning, mid fall. Lots of family fun, apples, pumpkins, and locally produced foods. Apple prices are slightly higher than discount markets like Aldi but the selection is much better, with varieties you won't find in stores. You can pick your own pumpkins and apples, which is very fun for children.”

“Great place for a family farm visit. Close to Madison and they have several activity options. We had a great time picking raspberries, apples and we just discovered they have grapes as well. The kids enjoy feeding the goats and playing in the playground area.”
