Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New York.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We were absolutely thrilled to come upon a farm or orchard that does not function as a money grab. Their policy of pick what you pay for is a rarity we see these days, and we find this policy to be the most welcoming and the practice generates the highest likelihood of repeat business. When we arrived, on June 17, 2026, prime season for strawberries and snap peas, we were greated by a friendly young woman named Erin, who operated the admission booth. She provided us with two small containers for the snap peas and two larger for the strawberries and explained that we can pick whatever we want, and only pay for what we harvest. We acquired some beautifully fresh snap peas and freshly sweet strawberries. We visited the store, which offered typical farm store goods. There was nothing overly impressive about the store, but it is worth a look. We loved this place and even though it is more than an hour away, this will be our go to this place to pick your own fruits and vegetables. We are looking forward to bluberries season in early July!”

“What a fun and enjoyable experience ! So many blueberries available for picking! We arrived around 9:30am and there were about 15 other cars, however the fields are quite spread out so we actually did not see or have to interact or share a row with any other visitors ! Our puppy had a great time as well (definitely recommend bringing a mud buster with you as they will get quite messy). Staff were friendly and we were charged $6/lb. No entry fee, we ended up picking for around two hours and brought home 9lbs of berries! Will definitely be back for next fruit picking season ! The berries tasted delicious ! So fragrant and sweet (: restrooms on site were pleasantly very clean as well.”

“Really fantastic farm. I actually researched farms with picking available because I was coming up from NYC and didn’t want to deal with scammy practices (exorbitant entry fees) or bad selections. This farm is definitely the best option in the general Hudson valley area. The farm consists of picking fields spread across about 3/4 of a mile of road. There are signs indicating what is available to be picked at which field. There is also a great shop with a cafe and grocer. On this visit, we picked apples and pumpkins and got some apple butter on the way out.”

“This farm was amazing! We went apple picking and stopped by their market Cafe. Apple picking was lovely - staff were very kind. Easy to navigate with your car and lots of rows to pick! The orchard was color coded on the map and it made it very easy. The market had lots of great choices - lots of healthy and organic things, hard to find items, and local products. Feeding the goats was also fun! They're very cute.”

“Lovely, incredibly friendly experience! Visited Oct 12 and had pretty much all varieties of apples to choose from. It’s $1.90/lb for pick-ur-own apples, which is a total steal. Cute goats, great cider donuts, everything about this was cozy and wonderful.”
