A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Massachusetts.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Extremely kind, humble folks running this little apple orchard. The field to pick in was small and a bit overgrown, but the apples are some of the highest quality we've ever picked. You can tell a lot of love and hard work was put into growing whats there today. Lots of fun treats and jarred goods in the store. Picking was a bit pricy, however i think it was worth it for how good these apples are. We plan on going back when the peaches and plums are ready!”

“Being from Massachusetts originally, my family and I were wanting to find a farm stand as we were visiting from Florida. We’re so happy we found this place! We went to grab some apples and caramel dip and ended up buying a loaf of the homemade apple bread and just wow! So delicious. The gentleman working inside was very sweet and gave us another type of apple to try in addition to the bag we bought. Highly recommend Hawk Hill!!!”

“My family has been buying their seasonal fruit from Mr. Stowe at Hawk Hill for years. I don’t live in the area anymore, but if I’m visiting in season I always make sure to stop by. The best Macintosh apples on the planet are grown here. They’re so good, you’ll compare every other apple you eat to those macs and those other apples will fall short every time.”

“Less busy and an amazing variety of apples along with peaches and pears. A cute shop that has all sorts of baked goods and art - they have a player piano they turn on at request - fun for kids and play areas outside. A great find for apple picking with kids.”

“Small orchard with a good selection of apples. The people running it were super friendly and helpful. We were looking for honey crisp and they had lots of them and some great peaches as well.”

“Very nice pleasant owners. However was very shocked by the price ..$52 for a big bag???Apple cider muffins extremely dry & after 3 days, apples didn't hold up to crisp, tart apples. Can only use them for possibly baking”
