Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in New Mexico.

  • Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“I'm from Maine and I really miss fresh raspberries. Or I did until I found Heidi's! We went for our first u-pick before the pandemic and can't wait to go back! It was hard work but the pie I made was totally worth it. Their jams are also delicious and worth every penny (they even got a mention in Food and Wine Magazine). I'm not sure why people had such a hard time finding it...I'm constantly getting lost but we found it just fine. Of course, I wasn't the one driving but I'm sure that had nothing to do with it.”

“Went with a friend for our scheduled appointment time, had to wait between 5 and 10 minutes in a seating area to be called and allowed into the field whixh wasn't bad at all. Quite a few families had younger kids there helping pick berries too. Very clean place, everyone is wearing masks, staff were all polite and we found tons of huge blackberries as well as some decent raspberries to take home 😁Would highly recommend signing up for a morning upick session just for something different to do!”

“We absolutely love coming each year and picking raspberries! *smile* It is one of our traditional activities! Make sure to wear comfortable clothing, it can get rather warm. The berries have such delicious flavoring! It is definitely a challenge not to eat them all before you get to your car! Heidi and her crew are so pleasurable to chat with and greet you with a warm and welcoming smile! *smile* Trust us when we say, you will not be disappointed!”

“This small berry farm was an amazing experience! If you haven't tried picking your own berries and walking through the rows of raspberries, you have to try it! My husband and children really enjoyed picking fresh raspberries and tasting the different organic jams. My two year old loved seeing wild turkeys roam freely around the property. Parking was $5. Wear comfortable shoes!”

“Had a blast with my family!! We will definitely be making a tradition out of this! I would want to go earlier in the summer so I could get blackberries but pricing is reasonable and if you carpool its only 5$ per car!! I also like how you have to make a reservation so you know that your not waiting in line! I recommend arriving a little early!! Great for young children.”

“Fantastic scenery and out of this world berries! We have lots of fun every year that we adventure out to the U-Pick it! It gets hot out there so wear appropriate clothing and pack water. We forgot bug spray and they generously provided us with some. We look forward to it every fall ☺️”

“Loved raspberry picking at Heidi’s! Even late in the season, there were still enough raspberries on the vine to get a carton full. The flowers, the view of the mountains were all serene, adding to the experience. Bonus l: you can buy any of Heidi’s great jams right on site.”

“Suprise $5 parking fee per car, post it on the website Heidi (fee for eating berries). $6/pint when we were there, no limit. No sign on gate, so the 9am parade of cars annoying an otherwise quiet neighborhood everyday is a minus star for me. Go early for best picking and least sun. Long walk from parking to picking, accessible only by dirt/mulch path, some people still find it hard to stay 6 feet apart on the path, but the picking lanes were distanced nicely. Professional & friendly staff.”
