Homestead Orchard

“Great small farm. Much better experience than the ones with all the extras. Very friendly owners. Barb spoke at length (sorry Barb 😂) with my father in law about god knows what while my wife, mother in law and I picked. I asked Don about their “one pie” Wolf River apple and he took the time to talk to me about the origin,etc. If you want a farm with a corn maze, petting zoo, etc, this isn’t for you. If you want a nice, quiet family farm, Homestead Orchard is a great place and I hope to make this our new annual tradition.”

“We love this orchard! If you like a quiet place to pick apples without all of the fall festival shenanigans this is the place for you. The owners are very kind and even took the time to walk us around the orchard so we knew where to pick and what each variety was best for (baking, eating, etc). It is SO clean and well maintained. Be sure to buy a bag of apple chips on your way out if they have them, they are delicious!”

“Very cute, very local! They have been around for a long time, for good reason! They do things the old way. Quiet, charming little place. Would be so cute to have a family photo shoot here. What a local gem! The honey is alone worth the trip! (PSA: cute homestead- not a lot of signs out on driveway, educate yourself on seasonal produce & how hard it is to maintain and harvest real local honey)”

“If you're looking for a non-hectic, truly family-farm orchard for fruit picking (especially apples in the fall), this is the place. (Don't come here, though, if you want all the hoopla of most "orchards.") No nonsense, just a peaceful, friendly place.”

“Perfect balance of tranquility and fun activities. They have an abundance of apple varieties and lots of space to play and relax. We love the hayride out to the orchard.”

“We went here a few years back by accident and really enjoyed it. Small and personal and the owners were very nice to our kids and dog who just loves running around orchards and tree farms making friends. I was disappointed they no longer allow dogs or we’d be going back this year.”

“Apples are good, trees are healthy. It is nice and quiet. The lady at the entrance is very nice and knowledgeable. The older gentleman (I assume the owner) seems cranky and shared a bunch of "do not dos" and some CDC covid rules claiming we could not sample any apple on site (really?). What is the point of going apple picking for $20 a peck for apples you can't even taste? Also, it is not because we have young children that we will destroy your trees. It was not a good experience for an hour drive. I would suggest less rules and not having this gentleman around customers. We came here once before during covid and had zero issues.”

“Small orchard . We headed here after a dr appt to get some apples. It was the only orchard listed that was open past 4 pm. We weren't planning on picking just buying a bag or two. We arrived at 4:15. Website says open until 5. We parked a man came out gave us the thumbs down hand signal, thumbed us to the exit. Will not go there again. If u are closed update your website and don't be rude to people who show up.He could have at best been friendly and said"sorry folks closed". Will never go back.”
