Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Washington.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“They have the best strawberries in town. There jam is to die for. They got all sorts of different berries. My family and I like to stop by here before we go on our road trips and buy a box of strawberries for the road. They're the perfect amount of sweetness each one you eat. To me they taste like wild strawberries and if you have ever tasted wild strawberries then you know what I am talking about on how good they're. They also sell some amazing jam that you can buy here or at The Farmers Market in downtown Olympia. At the market they let you try samples, before you buy. I have tasted everything and I got some favorites for sure. Their Tayberry jam is so freakin nummy. I also love their spicy jams, they go great on crackers with cream cheese. There Boysenberries are freakin ginormous. They're hella sweet and nummy. I like buying a box of them and make a boysenberry sauce to add to vanilla ice cream.”

“Fantastic, local, and organic, a terrific combination from established farm. I’ve been coming here for years, and I’ve never been disappointed. Come early because it’s quite popular. I usually buy a full flat and busy myself the same day to vacuum, seal them and put them in the freezer for the colder days ahead. You can get really naughty and buy extras to make fresh strawberry shortcake like I did this year. It’s great sharing with your neighbors! They really appreciate the extra calories! Staff are all very friendly and several venues to buy from including their farm on Wiggins Road and at the Olympia farmers market.”

“I’m so glad I stopped. The folks that work there are amazing and the berries were perfect. I wish I could buy year round, they definitely have the season down and know what’s perfect for picking exactly when. They also sell at the farmers market in Olympia, but there were more options at the farm at 9:00 am due to selling out at the market before I could get there. Definitely worth getting there early for more choices and ask them when their best pics are, they will know exactly when you should come back for more!”

“We stop by the Johnson Berry Farm's stand at the Olympia Farmers Market today and picked up some Tayberry jam. If you don't know, Tayberry is a cross between a raspberry and a blackberry... And Johnson's Berry Farm makes the BEST tayberry jam. Great for toast, jammy scones, charcuterie boards, and anywhere else you'd put jam. It's seriously delicious. Highly recommend.”

“I saw them at the Olympia Farmer’s Market and knew I couldn’t resist trying a few different types of jams. I picked up their raspberry reaper jam and it is killer! So flavorful, leaves the mouth warm for at least 20 minutes. I picked it up originally for my husband but… I kind of love it. Will definitely be ordering from them soon!”

“Tried 3 of their carry on sizes and took them home to enjoy. They were absolutely amazing. Didn't even last a week. Everyone loved them. The Raspberry lemon tart jam was my favorite and I ate it on a bagel every day. The Tayberry jam was amazing as well! Running to their website to restock.”

“The best jam around. Better than anything in the grocery store by a long shot. Freshly grown berries made into jam right in the area!”
