Before you go

A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Washington.

  • Check whether this stop is a stand, orchard tour, or full farm experience before you arrive.
  • Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
  • Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“There are no blueberries that compare to Spooner blueberries! I wait all year for these and buy two flats a week for me and my family!”

“We just got the biggest and sweetest blueberries and marionberries such a great place.”

“Beautiful, delicious berries at a good price. It made the best cobbler I’d ever had”

“Love there strawberrys. Bought a whole flat.”

“I thought the price of this year's strawberries seemed a bit high. I didn't get to buy any of them last year, so I don't have a comparison. I bought a half flat, which is 6 pints, for I think it was $24. I just eat them as is, so that means pitching the ones that aren't ripe at all, which ending up being about one pint. They are super tender and much tastier than what you get at the grocery. I rate that 5 of 5. But I weighed what I had after cutting off the tops and then did the math. I paid about $9 a pound for my strawberries. At $9 per pound, I probably won't be going back this year for more strawberries. Hopefully, the later fruit will not be so high. Or maybe my thinking is just outdated. Used to be a fruit stand meant better fruit at a better price. I guess now it just means better fruit. If you can afford fruit now at all.”
