Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Maryland.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Arrive earlier in the day for cooler weather and better selection during peak weekends.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“Kingsbury's peaches, cherries, apples, and asian pears are so special! I am just one of the lucky people who live close to these precious orchards, so I get to visit here every week in the season. The peaches are, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The apples are so fresh and have exceptional flavors. Also their prices are very reasonable, too. I am very glad that I can enjoy the region's agricultural richness. I highly recommend Kingsbury Orchard to anyone seeking flavorful and wholesome local fruits.”

“We come every year for peaches, asian pears and apples. Sue is no nonsense but friendly and knows her fruit. Don't want to get talked to or yelled at? Don't pick thru the already prepared baskets. See the ones you are interested in? But singles for $1 or $2 and taste them before buying!!”

“Gene the owner is always helpful, friendly and his Fuji apples are sweet, soft texture .”

“We drive about 30 min about once a month when in season. We love trying all the different varieties of the apples and pears. They are all delicious and are way better than their grocery store counterparts in taste and texture. I recommend trying and also swinging by Lewis orchard which is right there as well. Most of the employees are very friendly and helpful. There is one older lady who will answer your questions and everything, but seems like she's permanently grumpy, borderline mean, not sure why. Not a deal breaker to prevent us from coming back, but that would be my only knock against this place.”

“It’s still good, although it’s not the peaches that I picked myself, but the preservation is still very fresh.”

“While this stand has some of the best peaches in the area (and for great prices), we've been treated quite rudely by an older woman who works there. We visited the stand several times, and the gentlemen who first waited on us was extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, on return visits, we were ignored while other customers were greeted warmly. The last straw was, after seeing the employee, who again didn't acknowledge us, put a damaged peach in a box we wanted to buy, yelled to not to touch peaches. She then dropped the peaches herself as she took the basket back. Her demeanor was condescending and abrupt even after we purchased the damaged box. I will not be returning after giving them a few chances to improve.”

“I purchased both an Ever Crisp and a Candy Crisp box. The Ever Crisp apple was a delightful combination of sweetness, crispiness, and juiciness, making it incredibly delicious. The Candy Crisp apple was also quite enjoyable. However, my experience was marred by the extremely rude behavior of the elderly owner or worker. Despite driving 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach the location, I have no desire to return due to the poor customer service.”

“The older woman who worked there was incredibly rude and disrespectful and completely ruined our experience. I completely agree with the other reviews, I am absolutely never coming back as long as the elderly lady is working there! That being said… the apples were actually pretty good. I hope the elderly lady gets her act together and starts treating her customers properly.”
