Before you go
A short checklist so the trip feels easy — especially helpful for first-time u-pick visits in Maryland.
- Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, water, and containers unless the farm supplies them.
- Call or check the website for today’s picking conditions — mud, rain, and sold-out fields are common.
- Wear clothes you don’t mind getting stained; berry juice and field mud travel home with you.
- Cash still helps at smaller stands even when cards are accepted.

“We went close to the end of season so most of the apples were in the ground or already picked. We still managed to get lots of juicy apples. My advise is take a wagon before you go Into the field, because the the buckets get heavy pretty quickly and then you find yourself carrying a heavy bucket on your head or shoulders. It’s a great place for kids and you can sit and have lunch, but they do not sell food. They do sell jams, caramel apples, pumpkin and apple pie and drinks. You can also get a few produce like onions, banana peppers, other peppers, etc”

“We keep driving to this farm from VA because it’s that good! We were there yesterday, so many varieties of apples, sweet and delicious. The farm is very well kept and the baby goat was the highlight of our trip 🤩”

“Less crazy and crowded than butlers orchard but very nice. Great apple/berry/pumpkin picking. Nice little shop for baked goods and fruit/veg. We love it.”

“The refund policy is horrible. My family and I have been coming to this farm for the past three years. Typically we have had a decent experience. However this past trip will be our last trip. We came to pluck peaches only to find that they were overly rip and very little to choose from. Because of that we decided that it was not worth the time and additional expensive to pluck. So I requested a refund witch was denied. This farm has a no refund policy in place that does not consider the customer’s that are only coming to pluck the fruit. I spoke with both managers that where available to remedy this is. I was told the policy does not allow for refunds because of the animals and they could see other customer’s leaving with peaches. I do understand that. However they could not show me where I could pluck peaches that were suitable for purchase. I traveled a great distance with six children ages 13 to 1. They did not consider any of that. Entry fee lost and two hours of my day. It would be nice if they would post plucking conditions on their website. Or even inform customers before paying entry fee.”
